Forums - Gaming - How can Free to Play games improve?

Free to play games is said to be the way of the future for many games but obviously there is a big hurdle to jump over.  Why?  Because right now it is pay to win for most games which is ridiculous and is why they usually turn out to be bad games.

So what is some ways they could improve this?  I mean they do have to give you something good if you are paying for weapons or whatever else you are buying right?  But if they give you something good that often times means over powered.  So what is some ways of fixing this.

I actually just got into Crytek's Warface Closed Beta for PC so I'll let you know how a AAA budget free to play game works out when i have time to play it.

League of Legends seems to be doing very good for a F2P game.

I think they have the best approach, you're not required to pay for anything, it just takes a long time to unlock champions when you decide not to pay.

The worst kind of free to pay are the ones where they force you to wait when you run out of lives or where items and upgrades are only available if you pay.

Signature goes here!

By not behaving like a typical F2P game, the "buy to win" philosophy is unruly and unbalanced at best, unfair and downright damaging to the industry at worst, a sort of digital caste system.
