The stigma you speak of is not found in Japan, but in Western markets, and as long as dedicated gaming handhelds keep posting poor and/or 'just ok' numbers, that stigma will continue.

Only in Japan could Xbox sales jumping by 2/3rds mean so little. That would be absolute madness in the west.

Good on Vita. I hope the Vita will be able to maintain a minimum of 40K going forward as its software release schedule seems non-existent in Japan from April through Summer.
