You mean PS+ games?  Because I believe there are some F2P PSN games that you don't need any kind of subscription for.  Dust 514, I think, and that DC MMO.  And maybe Uncharted MP?  Not sure about that one.

PS+ instant game collection is more of a rental. it's only free for those who would pay for ps+ even without the games and only if ps+ would still cost exactly the same and wouldn't be cheaper otherwise.

ps+ is very cheap and good for what you get but no, the games aren't free. otherwise online gaming is free on xbox, you just have to pay for gold

guys seriously....the issue here isn't whether PS+ games are free or not...the comments he is using for his argument makes absolutely no sense

They are about a FREE2PLAY game! lol Those comments he is using is just pointing out that having a F2P game behind a paywall is not right..which is true

One can say they are free with membership (aka, freenium).  Or one can say there is an added cost, and not free.  It depends on how it is defined.  There has been an issue of people trumpeting how many free games they get with PS+.  But then when Microsoft does similar, the tune changes to "those games are not free".  As far as the 360 goes, I got Aegis Wings, Doritos Crash Course, and two other games, for free, and can play them.  I could argue I got more real free games with the 360 than I did with the PS3

Yes, the way xbox live is bashed and how ps+ is talked about as if it's Jesus with free games, this thread and more are needed. Go back up and look at the replies. Pretty sad that as soon as something pro Ms or Xbox live are posted, Sony fans are all over it. It's like a kid you pick on at school or something because you're all angry at your small penis sizes. (There is a South Park episode connecting the two, that makes it as good as a Britannica encyclopedia ok!!)

Implying 1 free game is all we have on the Xbox. We actually have every weeks great deals. I just recently bought El Shaddai for 3 bucks. And that's not a rental.

Ofcourse it's not free. PS plus is a content based subscription for which you recieve full games at no added charge. Basically a really cheap game rental subscription. Sure there may be some people that may try to say otherwise but its fairly obvious that the majority of even playstation fans will concede the point that it isn't free.
