Can someone explain to me what the double pack excatly is?

Two copies of the same game at slightly reduced total. 

It's exactly what it sounds like, two copies of the game packaged together. It's also much cheaper than buying 2 separate copies. Because SS is touted as a social game (like Monster Hunter) to be played with friends, it's a great deal if you know someone who also wants the game.

I see, at first it didn't get the point, but thinking about the social thing it makes sense and it's actually a good way of making sure there's a healthy community playing together.

Animal Crossing does like 70k every week so everything above that must have done well.
