actually i kind of want the high price for the patches to stay in a way, it would make developers not rely on patches so much since they cost a lot and try to actually finish the game when shipping it. something a lot of developers havent been doing lately (looking at you medal of honor)

Come on, they're already releasing lots of buggy, unfinished products. The high cost obviously isn't helping much, and what about games like Minecraft that keep evolving even if they're technically 'finished' and generally not too buggy to be enjoyable?

Pretty much this.

The games are going to be rushed no matter how cheap or expensive the patches are, so they should at least be cheap. I'd rather get the fixes earlier since I know many games will need them regardless. Plus it'd be a godsend for smaller devs/indies.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

Around the Network

NIntendo's eshop patches are for free, not a single cost. And devs decide when they are released. Still they need the Seal of Approval like any other one. See, when people don't inform themselves well they tend to be ignorants.
There is one reason why indie devs are jumping the Wii U bandwagon. They know what the deal is. Big third party publishers are the only one bashing Nintendo so far.
