Forums - Gaming - Is the SimCity fiasco putting you off buying the game or other EA products?

- Broken servers, not letting you play even a single player game

- Users threatened with bans for requesting refunds

- Requires Origin always online to play

...almost certainly more things I am missing here. I just wondered if this issue is genuinely harming the chances of you buying the game, if you were considering getting it. If you've already got it, do you regret the purchase? Do you see it impacting your future chance of purchasing an EA game? Is EA really as bad as everyone makes out?

Been following those threads at the simcity forums since launch, yeah more than a few people were denied refunds then threatened bans if they requested a chargeback from their bank.

And no, don't buy this game. The Simcity community asked for a whole year not to continue on the path they did, (online drm, small cities, etc) and each time they responded with patronizing comments like "don't worry you will love the changes to the gameplay, and don't worry, we promise that the online requirement won't hinder gameplay." bull shit

EA is making Activision look like a saint lately.

I'm feel gonna have to watch what they're doing Battlefield 4 and Mass Effect 4. Two EA games that will likely draw me in, have be careful sure I don't walk into such a trap with them. Can live without Fifa so that shouldn't be an issue.

Okay thanks- I've got a different angle that I can take this thread, so I'll change the OP rather than lock the thread, if that's alright with you

My god.

Too bad the non-forum dwellers like people that buy FIFA,MADDEN are less informed about the evils of EA.
People need to spread the word.

Pretty sure Madden sales wont be affected lol

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Any game that requires always online (especially a series that use to be offline!) is a no buy for me. The news of the servers and other issues makes me faintly hope it reverses this tide of thinking.

I'm getting the pirated version, if ever gets released. If not, well, it's not like there aren't any other games around. *shrugs*
