WTF were they watching???

God of war is an stellar franchise! And Ascension looks freaking spectacular! The reviewers rating it lower than an 8.5 can go an screw themselves!

If anything the reviewers do with such reviews (and i mean those under 8.5 ) they make themselfs looking untrusty. From what i have seen so far there is simply no way this can get a lower rating than 8 on an objective view.

According to some theres only like 4 boss battles entirely in the game and theyve supposedly shown all in the trailers :S

God of War 3 also havent many more if you think about it.

Kratos vs Poseidon

So not many more if you ask me. Also isnt this Kratos vs the Big Hand Enemy no Boss Battle?

Some of the guys on gaf seem disappointed or just pleased. I keep seeing people comparing it to GOW3. I kept thinking of this game as a prequel and that's the standards I'll judge it by. The thing with prequels it's really a case of 'damned if you do or damned if you don't' because if they went over the top and surpassed GOW3 then they'd say he's way too powerful and should be weaker since he's in the past. Personally I think SSM did the right thing given the constraints they had. I just really hate to see what some of those Sony haters have to say online, as if they've been waiting for this moment. GETS ME MAD!!!!!

One thing I do agree with though ... a reviewer said SSM was scraping the bottom of the Greek mytho pot, and I do agree. I feel like they explored everything and I can't see the next game being interesting if they continue along those lines. But let's wait and see. Either way I have faith in whatever direction they take the series.

4 Bosses sounds good. Are people complaining? As long as they're decent fights I see no issue.

You also had his fight with Hermes and Hercules, too. I won't count his "fights" with Helios and Hephaestus, though, since those were just glorified QTEs.

Also, the boss fights in III were wildly different in both scope and quality. The Poseidon, Chronos, Hercules and Zeus fights were incredible; the scorpion fight was pretty good; the Hades' fight was disappointing, while the Hermes fight was just "eh". If there's that much variance in quality in just 4 big boss fights rather than 7, that might be a problem.

Why should anyone else care what they think?
