I guess I'm not a real gamer then because I dont even know what that game is lol

Its an RPG made by square in the early 90s.  It utilized the SNES multitap to allow 3 players to play at the same time.  It was indeed a lot of fun.  When emulators with the ability to play online became big, I and my friends used to play this alot.

Ahh well that explains that.  I didn't like RPG's when I was little besides Pokemon

I still enjoy couch-coop. I remember when we used to play Super Mario Kart, Super Probotector, Street Fighter 2, Turtles in Time, Super Bomberman, etc... The SNES was a great console back then. Probably still my favourite Nintendo Console. I must admit that after I have played Mario Kart Wii with a friend I decided to skip it and I downloaded the SNES Super Mario Kart instead. That Battle Mode was so funny, we still enjoy it today.

Well, online Multiplayer... I frankly must say that I simply can't enjoy it. I do not enjoy playing again strangers on the internet. And online Trophies are only a timesink... Some people say I should regard it as a bonus, but since they lock me out of the PLatinum Trophy I regard online Mulitplayer as a malus...

I mean, look at Tomb Raider. It was always a singleplayer experience. And now they went and made a trophy where you have to prestige 3 times and get level 58 again. I don't get it.

Call of Duty is maybe the culprit. Since it is selling so amazingly everyone tries to get some sales of the CoD crowd. But it will never work since these Cod people are to busy playing CoD.

Quake 2, Outlaws and Starcraft were the first multiplayer games I've played. They were awesome at the time. Me and my friends( 3 neighbors) setup up a local network to play Age of Empires II/Starcraft.

Weird. Before online gaming, we used to go out of our way to find multi-player games. in the Nes days, it was all about Double Dragon II, Contra, 8-Eyes, Ikari Warriors, Tecmo Bowl, etc. I always had a room full of friends ready to grab the controller and compet.

Super Nes was no different. Mario Kart, Street Fighter II, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, etc. Not quite as many friends as the Nes days, but still a pretty steady supply of game loving friends.

Nintendo 64 was another multi player renaissance. We couldn't get enough Star Fox 64, Mario Kart, Killer Instinct, Wave Race, etc. My PS1 had a great multi-player presence, too. I had to buy a multi-player adapter (two, in fact because my third party adapter didn't work so I had to buy the Sony branded one). We had more fun with Quake II on PS1 than we did with Goldeneye on N64! Don't even get me started on Crash Team Racing.

I think the Gamecube/PS2 era was the beginning of the end for me. Most of my games were single player. People didn't come around like they used to. And the current era is, believe it or not, a pretty lonely existence for me. I get the occasional game of Mario Kart 7 or I'll log in some hours of Call of Duty but it's nothing like the earlier times. Maybe because I'm not a kid anymore. I don't know. I just don't get the same thrill from playing with others. Sometimes, I actively avoid it.

sure and some of my favourite multiplayer games are already mentioned. secret of mana (my second favourite game of all time), goldeneye, super mario kart and mario kart 64, super street fighter 2, soul calibur...

and i hope some of you played super tennis for snes!

my first multiplayer experience was probably on c64 which one of my older brothers owned.

first local MP in a sega mega drive @ a friends house, don't recall the year
then i got a PC in 1994 and played lots of local MP with my brother ... in 1996 or 97, not really sure... i play my first FPS in a 8 PC LAN at school, Heretic 2 and short time after we moved to Duke Nukem 3D that some dude had pirated and installed in the class room PCs. it was so much fun to play with my class mates, the yelling at each other, the name calling, so much FUN... couple years later i got NET at home and played lots of on-line MP... the one i played more was CS and CS:S... and now i use PSN for my on-line MP...

in the middle there was lots of PS1, taking turns in gran turismo and huge amounts of PS2 PES3/4/5/6
at friends houses...
