Forums - Gaming - VGC Community: Graphics KING - What's yours?

Crysis 3 is the best looking game out there, but I was disappointed with the smaller areas and loading corridors (Though I blame the game having to run on the PS3/360 for that), I'd give second to Tomb Raider, the lighting is the best I've seen in games, pretty much next gen stuff right there (And I haven't even played the PC version yet!). Though The Last of Us might change my mind when it's released. Future prospects: Metal Gear: Ground Zeros, Watch Dogs, The Last of Us (Unless God of Wars: Ascensions completely blows me away).

You're doing it wrong. You have to unilaterally declare a graphics king, and then this thread would've had 100 posts by now

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I really don't think of PC games when I think of technical graphics. They have "unlimited" power so just pumping graphics as a dev isn't too impressive. With consoles a technically great looking game is much more of an achievement.

For that reason my graphics king is Uncharted 3. Even with its old age, Uncharted is still visually stimulating.

halo 4 nothing remotely compared to it on console :P

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I find super-realistic graphics to be scary honestly. I guess I'm more sensitive to the "uncanny valley" thing.

That Toad creeps me out.

Well I haven't played the a lot of games that have been touted as best graphics but the two that instantly come to mind for best graphics in a game I've played are Halo 4 (such a beautiful game) and Tomb Raider (partly because of it's fantastic particle effects EVERYWHERE and the cinematic camera).

ni no kuni
uncharted 2/3
star ocean 4
final fantasy XIII
Secret if monkey island 2
assassins creed 3

:D

Right now I'm pretty impressed with Tomb Raider. It's one damn fine looking game, both technically and artistically. It plays great too. I felt the same way about Halo 4.

PC: Crysis
Consoles: Uncharted 3

IMO

If you can get around to Tomb Raider on PC, you will be floored by, not only how much better TressFX and tessellation make it look compared to the console versions, but how much better it looks than most PC (both exclusive and multi) titles.

God of War: Ascesnion - I expect to be floored again (for a 7-year-old console standard)

The Last Of Us - It's Naughty Dog. Their games generally look better than most on consoles.

3EYOND: Two Souls - This will probably end the gen as best looking console game (at least for me).

I will, hopefully they'll fix the crashing problems before I do.  Though I'm not sure if my card can handle the TressFX, I hear there's a 20% performance drop with it on.
