Seriously, when are people going to stop supporting Electronic Arts?! They MUST end these shady business practices. Seriously. They are doing more harm to gaming than good. I mean sure they have more money than God and they buy up any and and every new uber talented studio or ip so they can milk it to smithereens but WE as gamers and consumers should not reward their borderline evil business models by purchasing their products. Dead Space is the just the latest in a long line of titles that have been systematically lobotomized once EA got their hands on them. And with their movement towards microtransactions and Day 1 DLC, I think it's safe to say that EA has really lost its soul. Sometimes you get too big for your own britches and you lose sight of what made you great to begin win. EA in the 90s were LEADERS IN INNOVATION not just publishers who wanted to milk every single game dry then discard it like a piece of meat.

And don't get me started on EA Sports. And Madden. And NBA Live. Oh dear, Lord. The horror.

The sentiment is not realistic. People are never going to miss out on game they want to play just for the sake of making a point to the publisher.

Disagree completely. Support for EA has weakened each subsequent year. It's just that sadly their are a lot of uniformed gamers (usually young, whose parents buy all their games) who don't know just how remarkably evil EA's business models have become. It's out job as responsible consumers to put that info out there. I've opened the eyes of myriads of people I know about the shady business practices of EA, Microsoft, Capcom etc. etc. and they refuse to buy anymore of their games.

This will continue until they no longer have a stranglehold on the industry. No one stays on top forever. Especially when they lose their way and lose sight on what made them who they are.

All I have to say about EA

Did EA strip away what made Dead Space Popular or did the try to make a niche series sell more? The Dead Space games aren't big sellers. The first two sold ok, but they aren't Halo or COD that is for sure. EA probably would not have continued the series, but gave it another chance and tried to appeal to a larger audience.

It's been this way since the 2nd game.

The original Dead Space sold over 1million copies that's hardly niche. And DO NOT believe this shady Publishers that say a game needs to sell 5M copies to be profitable. If Dead Space would have continued on its survival horror trajectory it would have EASILY reach 3 to 5 million sales by Dead Space 3. And I agree with whoever said this started with Dead Space 2. But Dead Space 2 was still a really good game.

Dead Space 3 is no where near as good as 2 or 1. Period. And it certainly is no longer a survival horror game.

Naughty Dog's the Last of Us will show these stupid suits who are heads of these companies that the genre is viable and greatness and sales can be achieved if you stick to the core of the experience.

EA is a cancer upon the gaming world, as is Activision though less.

Unfortunely i love Bioware so i have no choice than to keep supporting Bioware while their games please me, but i totally agree i wish EA would disappear and i refuse to buy their crap. I did buy Kingdoms of Amalur, wich was a really good game and they should've kept the studio, if not only to engage in sequals of the single player game. Instead, they were insta-canned. They also destroyed westwood studios aswell as many other studios they bought and ran down. If i could pay to have EA close its doors, i would.

that studio wasn't insta canned. They went bankrupt with 38 studios, not owned by EA only published. that wasn't EA's fault.

I'm surprised no one has even mentioned the catastrophe the new Simcity has become and EA's role in ruining a once great franchise.
