Forums - Gaming Discussion - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is pretty short...

Up to 10? Ok... I'll see if I get the DLC or not but I doubt it :P. I heard about the speech changing at the end if you do that but I won't do it yet... I still have to finish the game on Very Hard and then Revengeance.

This game has a lot of unlockable stuff by the way... like older games, I think that's pretty cool. I unlocked a machete and a wooden sword the other day. It seems the wooden sword is for "pros" who want to challenge themselves... not only is it weak but one of its "enhancements" actually downgrades its attack power even more xD. I'll probably try to finish the game on Revengeance with it but only after at least clearing it once on that mode :P

Oh, and I got 26 seconds in that one because somehow a regular soldier attacked me and my counter hit the gekko, stunning him and giving me an ultra fast Zandatsu chance I didn't waste xD. To kill the regular soldiers I just run with R1, press triangle to slide and L1 to go into blade mode and cut them... try to only cut one in the red square to get the electrolytes and the others anywhere but on the electrolyte part so you don't have to grab multiple electrolytes when you stop... that will take longer than just getting 1 and besides... 1 is enough to fill the blade mode again for another slide :P.

Revengeance is very, veeeery cool because it messes up with the enemies and swaps encounters and screws up Raiden badly =P It is hard as hell. (I'm counting that you are not using wigs, as those reduce the difficulty a lot).

Yup, it has tons of unlockables. The only thing I'm missing is more costumes, which is a shame. They could have get really creative, but there are only five or six (eight if you preorder). You should beat the first mission of the game in Very Hard, it will unlock you a costume that IMO it's the best one for Raiden xD

I dunno. I'll have to master the VR trainning T_T

Well, I don't use wigs... I don't even use the "other" blade because it's too strong (you know which blade I'm talking about, I call it that because I'm too lazy to spoiler tag the name :P). I just stick with Raiden's HF blade and hardly ever switch to the other weapons you get from the bosses... though I think that'll change when I start playing on Very Hard and Revengeance because those weapons proved to be useful during some of the VR Missions.

So I'll unlock another costume for finishing the first mission on Very Hard? great :P I'll do it next time I play the game... most probably during the weekend :P

I think getting all S ranks in Revengeance is going to be a bit hard but I don't know because I haven't even played that mode yet xD I still have to unlock it.

You'd better get used to the "other" blade, or you'll be crushed in Very Hard xD Although a HF blade completely maximized is better than the "other" blade.

Really? is it THAT hard? I have both maxed out by the way. Is it still better even if they're both maxed?

No, it is not THAT hard, but requires dedication. Revengeance is where the real deal is xD

And no. The other blade is better by a mile away if maxed out. I'm saying that the maxed out HF blade is better than a basic "other" blade.

i been told that the game is short. but i also been told that its worth it, personally from what i seen the game is kind of boring, but i have to try it first

It depends on what you're looking for. I actually don't like hack n' slash games, yet the soundtrack, the story (yes, the story) and the dialogues between characters made me buy it, and I don't regret it.

Hmm... I see, well... I'll see if the game "obliges" me to switch to the other blade or not...

im not really interested in it, but my friend is a metal gear junkie. so i will borrow it from him. but from what i seen as a hack and slash game GoW seems miles ahead of this. though recently a lot of good things has been said about this game, so i might have to reconsider.

out of a hack and slash game what i want is epic combat, the story to be interesting and epic boss fights.
