u can't look at this week and say "well it's 50% of the pace it needs, so no" because of several factors
a) it is still supply constrained in many places
b) it's january, so lower sales than average week

no way it could sell that much but it will be near 100mln. look at my predictions and you know how much

Hmm....you do have the point. However..I looked up on sales from chosen weeks of 2007 and the DS sales went up only on several random occasion and in Holidays season which seriously boosted it up. In avarage weeks, they looked like now.

 

I am not saying that 100 million by 31/12/2008 is impossible but...highly unlikely.

We'll see what will happen in upcoming months.

Does it sell that much less in January`(only Japan, there is no monthly for worldwide)? All numbers are 2007.
January:
Total hardware: 1,75M. Total software 7.4M.

February:

Total Hardware: 1.3M. Total software: 5.5M

March:

Total hardware: 1.36M. Total software: 6.7M

April:

Total hardware: 1.19M Total software: 5.22M

May

Total hardware: 1.16. Total software: 4.3M

June:

Total hardware: 1.1`M total software: 4.4M

For the first half year, it is the best selling week...

Oops, forgot there is one for USA too, and that has something like this in hardware;
Jan: 1.7M
Feb: 2.1M
Mar: 2.2M
Apr: 1.8M
May: 2.0M
Jun: 2.0M

So there it is a bit higher. In total forUSA+ Jap the hardware is equally selling Jan to other months.
