Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft Explains The Difference Between Next Gen And PS3/360 Versions of Assassin’s Creed 4

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is a next-gen game and will also contain support for next-gen console features. Ubisoft has revealed some information on the difference between current gen and next-gen versions of the game.

“The game will also be available on Next Gen consoles,”  Jean Guesdon, Creative Director revealed.

“In addition to improved graphics and physic, Next Gen versions will bring to the players new connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain “Single Player” it will be better to be a “Single Connected Player”.

“I mean, that Next Gen Consoles will allow players to have a solo experience that benefit the presence of a huge community.”

There may also be some PS4 controller specific features which we hope they will be revealing later. Microsoft’s next-gen console will most probably be revealed in April, and we may have more information on the game then or at E3.

was hoping for a bigger open world, but ohh well.

MiiVerse integration for the Wii U version maybe, maybe Facebook or UStream integration for PS4, etc. would be interesting but I will still be picking it up (for Wii U) either way. AC3 has been getting a lot of hate but I liked it so I want to play this too. Also getting Watch Dogs as well so Ubisoft is getting my money twice this fall.

Systems Currently Playing: WiiU, PS3, 3DS

Also Have: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, PS1, N64, PS2, Wii, GB, GBC, GBA, DSLite, DSi, Android (RazorMax), iPhone (4), iPad (2)

Finally, annoying 12 year olds screaming or spoiling the story in single player!

What I'm hyped for is that there will be no loading in between traveling to the different locations.  IDK if that is only for next gen consoles, but it doesn't matter because I'll be getting it on ps4 anyways.

Doesn't sound hugely convincing....

But I will decide which cross platform games to get for what when the PS4 UK release date is announced

He didn't sound that persuasive...but oh well. Wii U or PC version for me depending on how the Gamepad is used.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Wait so did he say nextgen different from PS3/360?

Seems obvious. Also the article's speculation on PS4 centric controller options seems crazy. If they instituted some sort of quick touch on the touchpad... it could easily be on WiiU gamepad. So that clearly won't be the distinction.

It will instead be DLC and some other specific level/extension.

Yes... so the obviously higher power consoles (PS4/NBox/WiiU) will have upgraded features that fit their levels of power / capability.

So for visuals we have: PS360 < WiiU < PS4NBox .... then, apparently PS4 will have some unique content, WiiU will have gamepad uniqueness, and NBox will have something that is based off its Kinect or something I'm sure or maybe just the base game.
