You know, outside of Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland, this list does very little to help your argument.  Do you honestly consider Wii Play or Art Style to be "new core IP"?

Sure, the list contains no core-IPs except Tingle.

Well the question was, "Will Nintendo ever make a new core IP as great as Xenoblade Chronicles?"  Also, since the Wii was referenced, and Wii/Wii U games, I'm going to assume we're talking about home consoles.

Hm.

I'm sure the OP is trolling, though that doesn't really matter.  No one really expects him to be objective.  People are taking the question and running with it, despite his intentions.

eeee, lol. Even if Monolith going to be sold (which is not gonna happen), Nintendo will own IP forever. Look at Eternal Darkness, for example - SK gone long ago and Nintendo re-registered trademark year ago. It's Nintendo's IP. Same with Hotel Dusk, Golden Sun and many many more 2nd party games (funded by Nintendo - owned by Nintendo = Nintendo IP).

Yeah, I dont think they'll change anytime soon. People keep buying the rehashes. I mean, people just repurchased OOT, the same ol', same ol' for $40...imagine that! Why innovate when you can make billions off nostalgia?



Why is it a bad thing? Some people haven't played. Vita has the same thing as 3DS, but 3DS game came out way before. If ya dont want it dont buy it!

But it's only wrong when Nintendo does it

you either innovate or remake, you can't do both man

So, Banjo Kazooie, Conker´s Bad fur Day and Perfect Dark are Nintendo´s IP?  hmmmmmmmmmmmm something is not right here...
