Because they got proven wrong so they probably see no point in commenting back about it. 

Don't worry buddy, I'll always get back at ya even when I'm wrong. Fortunatly I wasn't wrong, I merely asked for a press release, and I'm not in a hurry to reply to someone on a messageboard, we humans can do something else in the meantime. Its not a matter of being right or wrong, its about priorities, is your nr1 priority an argument on the internet? Thats pretty sad.

Don't write nonsense like your previous post then capiche? Because I'm dumbfounded at why you would even imply such a ridicilous thing. Even if I never commented back to this thread it would never prove me wrong, I merely asked for a specific source.

President and CEO Jim Ryan says the total opposite of what you guys are saying.


I'm sure he meant that Sony still had PS2's in retail channels. We have dozens of articles (from a simple google search) confirming that Sony is no longer manufacturing PS2's. 


Well just because they stopped manufacturing them, doesn't mean they don't have any left to sell to retailers.

You know, EVERYONE cited Guardian article to say PS2 was discontinued. Do you really think Sony would confirm such an important news only to news sites that had nothing to do with gaming like Guardian?

I still see PS2 everywhere around here. Sony knows PS2 still is the highest selling console in developing countries like India and probably Middle East. Stopping production worldwide makes little sense.

well, the PS2 is definitely still selling healthy amounts in the middle east where i see families going inside a lot of game stores and buying PS2s till this day. but most of them are the financially crippled ones but still the product is quite relevant along with PS3.
