Forums - Gaming - Where is Crytek getting all its money?

It's always something I wondered. As of this year they have over 600 employees scattered around the world over 7 studios and yet the only games they have released in the past 4 years are:

2011 Crysis 2 Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Crytek Frankfurt/Crytek UK
2012 Fibble – Flick 'n' Roll iOS Crytek Hungary
2013 Crysis 3   Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Crytek Frankfurt/Crytek UK

Of course they also develop the CryEngine. I guess they probably make some money by licensing the engine but very few high profile games use it.

Also they have a couple of projects they're currently working on (Homefront 2, Ryse and Warface).

Is it Germany that's giving huge subsidies to Crytek? Is it that Crytek is currently bleeding but living on promises? Or is it simply that the Crysis series alone brings all the money?

What do you think?
