Hahahaha love it, I wish I had some free money :( I wanna get the new Ps all stars Costumes.

I believe there's a deal happening right now in which you get 10$ for spending 50$ on PSN. Have you spent 50 bucks on there recently?

Sony hates me because I only have a Vita now. In fact.. I hate myself too.

it's a marketing strategy if you want to get a bigger part of the cake. sony is trying to get a bigger part of that online service cake. if sony will be on top anytime in usa and microsoft not anymore it will be the same vice versa.

that's the same in other branches. as example here in germany, i don't ask vw if they even try with their cars because i get huge discounts on opel, renault, ford...vw doesn't give the same discounts because they don't have to, they dominate the market here without going the way of reducing the margin to get at least a decent part of the cake.

so yeah, it's obviously good for the consumer but there is a reason why a company is doing it and it's not "we want to be nice to you", it's "we have to do that"

be happy as customer to get such deals/money/whatever but don't wonder why another company isn't doing it because there is always a reason behind such a strategy. a price war would be wonderful as consumer but it would be horrible for sony and microsoft in the long run.

@microsoft fans who try to find cheap examples of xbox live or whatever, sony just has the cheaper service right now if you think about the whole servcie with discounts and everything, that's just the truth.

I got a free month of xbl gold the other week. Surely better than buying a game then being surprised that you can keep it?!?

I keep every game I pay for?

That comparison is horrible. you are not getting those games for free with your xbox live gold, actually you get no games for free or free $10. You instead pay more just to play online. So yes it is extremely better when you actually compare them.

I get that you're happy and all. But why try and start subtle flamebait thread #2,495,948,921?

But since you brought it up I'll respond. I think MS is finally starting to get a clue because they seem to be having more and more deals and freebies these days. Like just now they are having an GoD sale. Now granted not all the deals are that great but there are some pretty good ones (like El Shaddai for $3). Plus they have free pilot TV episodes here and there (and right now they have the first two seasons of Duck Dynasty for free).

They are slowly and surely having more free stuff and better deals. It has been a long time coming though.

$50 for PS+ with rental to a shit load of PS3 and PSVita/PSP games for a whole year VS $60 for Gold so you can use your internet to play online....

Yeah...no...PS+ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gold

lmao what are you trying to say here?

You took one thing i said from the entire post I made and try to turn that into a negative.  How about this, dont worship a company.  For one FF Tactics should be no more than $4.99 and that is pushing it for a PS1 games.

Number 2 it looks like MSFT is taking after Valve with big sales, good for them.

You know how much money ive saved with Steam?  Well over $200 in 2 years.

With MSFT ive saved around $60 on sales through christmas and spring in the last 6 months.

Congrats for saving $10.  I also got $10 from PSN.  I also got $5 yesterday from bing. In a few months Ill get another $5.  And then a few more another $5.  Ill probably save $20-$25 a year just by using bing.

Does that mean MSFT is being nice to me? NO.  It means they are trying to bribe me to use there merchandise.

And last time i checked MSFT dominates PSN in the United states which is where most online activity is located which makes the OP even more ridiculous.  He shouldnt have even mention MSFT.
