Forums - General - MS, Sony are seemingly looking to block used games...why not Nintendo?

i can understand both sides myself and im going to buy the next xbox anyway. i could care less about playing my old xbox 360 games on my next xbox i mean whens the last time any of you played a ps2 game on your ps3 and i dont know when was the last time i played a xbox game on the 360.but my point is why dont the stores and the developers work out a new deal. saying no used game can be sold under lets say 30$ bucks and and the store gets 15$ and the developer gets 15$.and when it comes to letting friends use your games well sometimes industrys have to take a lost but atleast everybodys happy after this

and just to say if the industry is making as much money as ppl think and the used game market isnt hurting it then tell me why are their so many game company closings for smaller developers right now ?

Nintendo and PC gamer

Well blocking used games would be a reason for me to not buy a console. Its not that i wnated to play my old games again and again since i will have not enough time to play all the new stuff. but

if you are a person which by all the limited editions and special editions which can be sold for a lot of money after some years that would mean that all those limited editions would become worthless. Or didnt i see that correctly.

But i am 100 sure that neither sony and microsoft will do it this gen. They would lose too much more consumers.

My thoughts (as you pointed out) are that people just don't trade in Nintendo made titles--not the major ones, anyway. Try to find a copy of certain DS Zelda or Mario/Luigi titles and the price of them have actually gone UP. Nintendo will get their money regardless of whether they block used games or not because everybody buys Nintendo games new for months or even years.

No one will block used games, because they are not that stupid. It is as simple as that.
