I hated FF8(draw was the biggest piece of shit design ever, story was also corny as fuck), I still think MGS is the best MGS game though, Megaman also hasn't been that good since the PSX days TBH, the best ones are still on the original Nintendo since 2D platformers depend much less on graphics. Tells you that we really haven't come that far though, it's pretty sad. I still have The Last of Us and Beyond 2 Souls to look forward to though!

There's another example, the Last Guardian. That game will be (when it ever releases) a great experience, a visual experience that is simply fun to enjoy, if it's anything like SotC.

To be honest, without some form of visual strength, these games lose their appeal, but visuals aren't what make them great. It's the music, the worlds, the pace in story, and how the player learns more about this world with time.

The same happened to me as well, only i was never a PS fan, but you are right in the core of your argument, and contrary to most of people i blame PS2 for the current awful situation....

Hilarious

well its a matter of opinion when it comes to your favorite console or manufacturer of course. and i think thats the case here. aside from 3d platformers and karting games, no way in hell is nintendo better than sony in other genre's i am interested in. in my opinion Sony mops the floor with nintendo when it comes to genre's outside of platforming and karting. Sony also offers much more genre's and is more creative and innovative when it comes to there games (yes i said it)

before any one replies, just remember that this is my own personal opinion.

Sony doesn't have a TBS game and Nintendo has two (Advance Wars and Fire Emblem).  Also, Battalion Wars is RTS which Sony is lacking.

third person shooters? hack and slash? interactive drama? fully open world action games? games like flower, ico or shadow of the colossus?  heck, story driven games? zombie games?

Alright!  Game is on!

Let me take some 3DS e shop titles for back up!

Pushmo/Crashmo - puzzle , Sakuri Art of Samurai - strategic fighting, Dillon's Rolling Western - open world action game? with strategy elements , FreakyForms - customize your own world, create your own characters

Jet Force Gemini  - third person shooter (its been awhile), all other genres listed I'm stumped right now so I need back up called on these

How do you counter a game like Animal Crossing?

while you saying "alright! game is on!" does clearly indicate your intention to start a war or an arguement about sony and nintendo, you neglected one thing, that my entire post was about games i am interesteding in, something i did bold for you to see in my first post. now you did open an arguement with me about games i am interested in and the games that interest me from both nintendo and sony in the genre's i am interested. every game you mentioned i dont give two shits about, and with all honestly cant even come close to the quality of games like uncharted, god of war, or infamous.

i intentionally made my first post about the games i am personally interested in to fend off users like you, who for some reason, just want to start shit, but there you go, you lost your arguement. your ignorant, nieve and immature way of trying to start shit has made you flat out lose this argument, congratulations.

I used to be a big PlayStation fan back in the PS1 days and the Spyro games were my favorite. I felt right at home, but over time it became more and more apparent that Sony and I had to part ways. While I grew up to leave my teenager years behind me, Sony refused to do the same. For the handful of female members we have around here, let me point out the entire scope of a male teenager's brain:

1) Is she hot?
2) If yes, how hot is she?

This mindset doesn't only apply to how male teenagers perceive women, but everything else as well. While I began to look at the finer details of games, Sony was still stuck in a mentality where only superficial things really mattered. The advancement of technology became less important to me over time, because a mediocre game with pretty graphics would still be a mediocre game. I wanted my games to be great at their core, not full of distractions that covered up for an unpolished/unbalanced game. You might say that good gameplay and good graphics are not mutually exclusive and you would be right for saying this. That's why I switched to Nintendo who have the highest batting average when it comes to making games like that.

I still follow the news on Sony systems and games, but time and time again I end up being disappointed, because they are unwilling to change. The PS4 announcement wasn't an exception to this rule, but further confirmation. I hope that one day I can own a Sony system without regrets again, but until then I'll stick to Nintendo games.

Yeah..... I'm currently really pissed at the rumor that The Last Guardian might not come out on PS3 at all....... I have to honestly say that I haven't really like Team ICO's games that much though, I was hoping this would change my opinion about them but the Newegg link still has not even a box art...... Also didn't they already hand the code to Santa Monica last year?

Who cares? You're comparing two horribly shallow games. As the saying goes, "It's Like The Special Olympics, You Can Win But You're Still Retarded.". Now lets compare some real games eg. GT series Vs Mario karts? Team Ico Vs Zelda? Metroid Vs Killzone? DMC series Vs ???? Every mulitplatform-game-this-gen vs all-those-games-that-didn't-platform-over etc etc etc etc etc..........

I rest my case.

Oh my word, this solidifies your idiocy my friend. Metroid is one of the most beloved gaming franchises of all time that caters to the gaming crowd. It has 2-3 games that are easily in the top 20 video games of all time. Killzone is just another shooter. I was going to ignore your moronic rant, but this is pure ridiculousness.

*claps for Rol*

Well done.

Because....?

You can't just say it like it's a fact, but you have to reason why. Many games have been succesful for all the wrong reasons, and I would say that Metroid is one of them. It was good - 20 years ago. It is now dated, shallow, and very poor (in my opinion of course, due to poor gameplay, weak asthetics, no immersion, no storyline etc)...but here you are defending it. Why? And please, no intrinsic retort in your response.

I believe they're helping on it, but the game is still being made by Fumito Ueda (on contract) and team Ico.
