Lots.  I spoke to some of my own friends who love the Wii and they love how it's simpler to play than the PS3/360.  You want to swing the bat in Wii Sports? No need to figure out which button to press and how to hold the joystick up/down for a power/contact swing.  Just swing the wiimote like a real bat!  Doesn't seem like such a big reason to us but to them that's huge.  

Another one of your biggest misconceptions is above.  80-90% of the PS2 userbase didn't play those games.  Once you realize that you will realize how many of your arguments sound absurd.  You repeatedly mention how fans of certain PS2 games will move on to the PS3.  Even if 75% of Tekken or Ratchet fans go onto the PS3 it won't hit 80 million just off of that alone. The highest selling Ratchet couldn't hit 3 million.  Tekken came close to 7 on the original PS but on PS2 they couldn't even hit 4!  Even if those userbases have no overlap whatsoever you're talking about a small fraction of the PS2 userbase.  All of the Tekken and Ratchet and SOCOM fans could converge to the PS3 and that still won't guarantee 100 million.

 And then there are folks like me that only bought 1 and still have it nearly 6 years later in daily use. I don't know a single person who had to replace theirs either, so those "statistics" fail imo.

CrazzyMan. Blu-Ray will not drive sales. If DVD only sold about 1/3-1/2 of PS2 sales what makes you think it can sell 100 million PS3s?

The games will not sell PS3. They are niche games. Niche means they only appeal to a certain market. PS2 was bought because it was casual. PS3 isn't casual. An expensive HD gaming device with little casual games. Yeah I can REALLY see all of the casuals rushing out to buy one.

Loyalty will not drive sales. Sega. Nintendo. Do these sound familiar?

gow2 is AWESOME and came only in 2007 or only after 7 years since PS2 launch. FFXII was also awesome for many people, came only after 6 years.

I say it will, the PS3 is amazing in HD. Most people are jumping to HD.

 And like I said those aren't many, you named 6 titles that doesn't give a large diverse library 

Did gamers care when SNK's Neo-Geo was far more powerful and produced nicer graphics than the SNES?
Did gamers care when Nintendo's N64 was far more powerful and produced nicer graphics than the Playstation?
Did gamers care when Microsoft's XBox was far more powerful and produced nicer graphics than the PS2?

Gamers (in general) simply don't care ...

In a lot of ways the graphical advantage of the Neo-Geo or N64 was as large (or larger) than the graphical advantage of the PS3, and yet people picked the system with the worse graphics mainly because it had a larger library of games to play games which most people on this site would consider crap.
