They were already shown to be in the game, and the full image of the game's boxart has the purple n whites on it. The only question is whether or not they'll appear in the story mode as there's only 5 displays for Pikmin types on the mission log.

lol, then you may aswell do it now as it's 99.99% confirmed that there aren't any new Pikmins. That 0.01% is just incase there's a multiplayer/challenge mode exclusive Pikmin.

It's not a box but an image that they could only fit part of onto the box. Google pikmin 3 full boxart and it should come up. I'm on me 3DS atm so can't post links. As for Character D, I bet he appears later in the story and/or in multiplayer/challenge mode. Yeah he hasn't been shown in game yet, but neither was Charlie for a long while, and Olimar hasn't been shown at all but we know he's in the game. This is all probably wishful thinking on my part though. =/
