So what happens if MS blocks used games and Sony doesn't?

GameStop will probably only advertise PS4

It really depends.

If the price of 720 games is lowered by the avearage trade in amount, and MS takes the reduced profit, then very little will change, gamestop will suck it up, and MS will make less money.

If the price of 720 games is lowered by the average trade in amount, and MS makes retailers take a significant fraction of reduced profit, then the big retailers will be very hesitant to stock 720 games apart from big blockbusters and will push PS4/WiiU versions of multiplats more.

If they don't drop the price, then the 720 will have the lowest attach ratio of any of the next gen home consoles, whereas the 360 had the best.

As if there ever was a doubt. Sony is always focused on the core gamer.

Thats completely false. PSX and PS2 relied A LOT on casual gamers and had TONS of shovelware.

Wrong. The PSX and PS2 were about 60/40 when it came to their libraries. the Wii have like 20/80 shovelware.

Those estimation you take out of your ass dont change the fact that the majority of PSX and PS2 owners were casual gamers.

On 155 million console sold it's normal to have a lot of casuals but what was really good about PS1(PSX is another thing dude) and PS2 is that they had games for everyone... from the hardcore to the casual, everyone cold find his type of game... the same can't be said about the Wii, that's the difference. ;)

Excuse me? One, PSX was the name of the prototype of the first PS Sony console, and that way was named by the industry until the redesign of the same came out. Your second paragraph doesnt even make sense, at least you agree PSX/2 were driven mainly by casuals (GTA is casual). AND im not comparing it to Wii, we all know Wii is the casual heaven.

So tell me why Sony released in Japan another product called like that? oO

It seams you are not informed so next time do a little research ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_%28DVR%29

PS1 is no more a prototype so why call it with the name of another released product? :)

This has already been discussed, ask Pezus or Ethomaz for truth. PSX was the codename for the first Sony console, and had that name until PSone redesign launched.period

True but it's also the official name of that DVR device that i think has more relevance than a prototype. ;)

BTW... The first two playstation had a wide range of gamers so you can't say they were in majority casuals... and why the comparison with the Wii is wrong? Should i compare them with apple and oranges? XD

Wii being more casual friendly doesnt make PS1/2 less casual friendly.

But it's splitted differently... PS/PS2 wasn't more than 60% core 40% casual, Wii it's like 80% casual

For me it's a big difference lol

Thats what you say, but you dont have anything backing it up, so i easily can think you made it up to fit your agenda.

It's not so hard to find it out... just a logical proportion between a "casual heaven" like the Wii and the "core friendly" PS3... PS/PS2 were simply in the middle. ;)

If I remember the PSX was used by the game community and press because "X" is a military symbol of some sort meaning "station" (that is a guess) but Sony itself used officially the PS codename.

Sony used PSX officially for a PS2 media center released only in Japan.

Really? I think I saw something recently refering to pre Version 1.0 things as Version X.0 or something like that.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

The PS4 will be amazing just like it's predecessors, it was foretold by the elder scrolls.

Lets look at this logically shall we.

If one console blocks used games and the other doesn't who REALLY is looking out for the developers?

That is a lie because you can't even play Elder Scrolls on a Sony machine.
