Uncharted hasn't reached crash bandicoot in trems of sales yet. Although platformers haven't been selling a lot this gen except for a fat italian, but crash name should still be big. |
Crash Bandicoot isn't a first-party franchise either. It was developed by Naughty Dog before they were bought by Sony. It was also being first sold on a console that ended up with over 100 million console sales and was supported longer than the PS3 has been around unless I'm mistaken. Which makes it more likely that a successful game would sell more copies. As well, yes, platformers were a lot more popular back in the mid to late 90's.
If Naughty Dog isn't wanting to do Jak & Daxter right now because they just can't recapture the essence of that kind of game, you can pretty much forget about them wanting to do Crash Bandicoot even if Sony somehow managed to get that franchise back into their hands. It seems that for the forseeable future we can expect more serious, realistic games from Naughty Dog.
As far as Bend Studio goes, the same problem goes with Crash. With Jak & Daxter it's possible but there have been no "credible" rumors of a new game being made. As I said, the rumor being passed by Verendus on GAF that a stealth action game is in the works and whispers of a potential Syphon Filter comeback, now that it's painfully obvious Metal Gear can no longer be counted among Sony exclusives in any meaningful way, makes me think it's more likely that Bend is working on the only franchise it has ever been able to call its own.

. So I am used to being able to spam the shoot buttons. I remember back in the CoD2 days that the rate at which you could shoot from the semi-automatics depended heavily on your FPS, and the ultimate goal was to reach something like 110 FPS stable
