Considering that Knack has more pre-orders according to VGChartz and other sources earlier on showed Driveclub not getting that much attention from early adopters, I don't think this will be a big deal at all. It's a new franchise that many people are being cautious about. It's not Forza or Gran Turismo. Truth be told, it would be the only real negative thing to happen to Sony as far as their PS4 efforts are concerned. It was only a matter of time before something... anything... went wrong. If the delay means a superior product when it launches, awesome. If it was simply because they were behind on development, then boo. Either way, this will barely be a blip on the radar.
Killzone: Shadow Fall seems to damn near have a monopoly on retail exclusive interest for the PS4 from what can be seen. If THAT game were to be delayed, then yeah I would definitely call that a huge hit. Let's be real here. Does anyone honestly expect to be looking back years from now and saying to someone, "Man, if Driveclub hadn't been delayed by a few months then Sony would be so far ahead right now"? I seriously doubt it. Within 3 to 4 months after launch, assuming this is all true, Driveclub and Infamous: Second Son will be released and only the most petty people will still be upset that it wasn't at launch. Considering the apparent consumer favoritism of upcoming third-party offerings and that Sony's console is the cheaper option with no downside, I'm sure people will get by.
Too often people look for any kind of negative news as the deal breaker. The chance for them to declare victory for their platform about as prematurely as everything else in their life it would seem. They're also the swiftest to defend their platform when it receives its own negative news. It really is best to just ignore them. They're the kind that have already managed to drown themselves in blind and hateful loyalty. They have deeper issues than you can even come close to fixing on the internet.
