As spotted by AGB, the filing pertains to "entertainment services, namely, providing online video games."
Burbank, California based Insomniac is currently known to be working on two projects, Sunset Overdrive for Xbox One and Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus for PS3.
Last month, Insomniac CEO Ted Price explained that Xbox One's ability to update content on the fly makes it an appropriate platform for open-world shooter Sunset Overdrive.
He also said the game's Xbox One exclusivity doesn't rule out the studio developing PS4 games. "While we are excited about partnering with Microsoft on Sunset Overdrive, that doesn't mean we can't or wouldn't make games with our longtime friends at Sony," he said. "That's the magic of being an independent developer."
The more recently announced Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is a new single player platformer billed as an epilogue to the R&C Future saga (Tools of Destruction, Quest For Booty, and A Crack in Time).
Price washed his studio's hands of Insomniac-created PlayStation exclusive series Resistance last year, and owner Sony has since said it has "no definitive plans" for the franchise.
