MS Conference was fun to watch. Just watch this:

LMAO!!!  That was hilarious.  I was hoping MS would make me want to get the new xbox within a year of release, but that first impression completely put me off.  Will wait till a redesign comes out or something.  I hate the new controller, thought the way it was was fine.  Console is huge and not great looking, though it doesn't matter too much.  Kinect required.  Internet connection required to start game.  Apparently only can be offline for 24 hours until you can't play your game. TV, TV, TV, Sports, COD, and more TV.

So what do you PS Nationers think of the Xbox One? Does Sony have a chance?

Sony doesn't have a chance cause of Microsoft's marketting.  People are soon gonna be praising Microsoft that they have to pay full price for a used game.

If only...lol

It seems to me like MS want to be back at square "One". They thought that making deals with EA sports would help them grab Europe from Sony but oh, boy, they didn't realize how this always online/no used game thing would backfire.

I don't know. I want to think you are right, but look how many people still pay for LIVE.

That doesn't transfer over to next gen unless they buy an Xbox one.

What I mean by that was if people can be fooled into paying for something that was free on the PS3 for the whole generation, Microsoft can fool them again with the XO.

That was the point I was initially trying to make.  Unfortunately it'll get spun into an amazing thing.

Can't think of a time when paying full price for used games was a bad thing. /sarcasm

E3 maybe, but probably not.  I wouldn't expect it to be shown till end of 2013 or E3 2014.

Sadly I'm thinking you are exactly right. I've got my fingers crossed that everyone who watched the reveal will realise that Microsoft was using 360 owners as a stepping stone into the set top box market. They definitely didn't go into the making of the XO thinking "what would be best for the gamers?".

In the big french board where I am posting most of the time (Gamekult.com) almost everyone saying it was a disappointment, some 360 fans come to the PlayStation board. They go full PlayStation because of the event. I don't know what MS did but it wasn't positive at all from what I see, so I guess Sony must be very happy...

This is very tough time for Microsoft.  They're getting bombarded from all areas.  Windows Mobile 8 phones are selling poorly.  They have no setop box to compete with Google or Apple  (Until Xbox One gets released).  They're tablet offerings are a mess (Windows RT was a terrible idea).  They're solution is this console.  Microsoft is in no bad shape financially, and they never will be, but this console is a huge gamble.
