PS4 1.7 Update Video Showcases Features and UI; April 30th Release Date Officially Confirmed

by Giuseppe Nelva (1 hour ago) 7

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia just released a new video showcasing the upcoming 1.7 firmware update. The video also finally confirms that the release date for the update will be on April 30th.

The video showcases the following features:

  • Nico Nico Live streaming.
  • HD quality Ustream streaming.
  • The SHAREFactory video editing suite.
  • The ability to store and transfer video and screenshots on an USB stick or external USB hard disk drive.
  • PS Vita TV Remote play coming with a PS Vita update to be released at the same time.

The release date isn’t too surprising, considering the previous leaks. Looks like we were right, after all. As usual, you read it first on DualShockers.

Hey sorry to barge in out of nowhere but something really strange happened today and can figure out what it was. I was watching youtube through the ps3 app and all of a sudden while watching a video a mouse appeared and changed the quality twice, so i was like wth is somebody hacking my pc or something but when i reached for my laptop I realized I was using my ps3 which to me is quite strange because I've used the app with keyboard and mouse and apparently they don't work within the app. I use the app quite often and this is the first time this has happened, has anybody seen or heard of this happening before or is this normal at least.

EPIC GIF!!!

Nice gif, bit pessimistic for X1 though.  Nothing will beat the original 6th gen gif, that one was epic

GRAVE AIMING FOR PLAYSTATION 4

Upcoming survival horror title Grave has released a new set of Kickstarter stretch goals, the first of which teases a PlayStation 4 version of the videogame. Developer Broken Window Studios has promised a port to the console if the campaign reaches $40,000 USD in funding. That said, the campaign, which ends on 28th April 2014, is still hoping to raise its base goal of $30,000, with just over $2,000 left to go. It will launch on PC, Mac and Linux with support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset, with an Xbox One version also confirmed.

The PlayStation 4 stretch goal is the first of a number of new targets posted in the campaign’s final 72 hours. Broken Window Studios hasn’t confirmed if this port would support the Project Morpheus VR headset announced for the system last March. Other stretch goals include $50,000 to expand the title’s open world, $60,000 for online multiplayer and $80,000 and $100,000 for mystery targets.

It was also revealed that Grave is currently ranked 9th on a list of 1,682 titles on Steam Greenlight, meaning that it is very likely to be approved for sale on Valve’s digital story in the near future.

Grave is a first-person survival horror title in which players defend themselves against disturbing monsters that attack at night. Light-based weapons are used to keep enemies at bay if not completely destroy them, with players using day time sections to restock and explore the surrounding environment. If funded, the title is hoping to release in January 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress and report back with all the latest.

Check Out 13 Awesome Minutes of PS4 Watch_Dogs Gameplay, Illustrating the Ways it’ll Surprise You

by Giuseppe Nelva (2 hours ago) 15

The folks at PlayStation Access are keeping up with their Watch_Dogs week, and today they posted thirteen more minutes of lovely PS4 gameplay.

The commentary is also quite interesting, as it illustrate eight different points that wmight surprise those that aren’t too familiar with the game.

While I wasn’t all that surprised (but I’m quite familiar with the title by now, so I don’t count), the footage definitely looks lovely. Check it out for yourself just below.
