I don't believe it was ever actually said to be coming this year. A lot of people assumed it would because it was an Indie title being shown at the end of the Summer. So they figured that was more than enough time to do it. From some of the things I've read about comments made of the game from people in the industry it's actually impressive. One guy randomly tweeted on Santa Monica's feed awhile back that after he saw some stuff on it the game became his most anticipated.
