Forums - Gaming - MS is not worried about PS4. The Fans will Drive Xbox’s Next-Gen

It's all going to come down to price and content again... if M$ can undercut Sony and offer a strong lineup of games to counter Sony's exclusives then I see no reason why they won't retain their hold on the US market.

And then there's the Wii U which could play spoiler of the casual audiences starts warming up to it and takes to it even half as much as they did with the Wii, but Ninty is going to need some serious software for that to happen.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Let's not forget that due to the RROD, they probably only have about 60% of there shipped consoles actually still working. I have owned 3 over the years and will not make that mistake again...

Don't forget that due to YLOD the PS3 has about 20% of its shipped consoles actually still working.

What?

YLOD was never that huge of a problem as RROD was. The older 360's used to fail so much that even local repair shops started banning the 360s for repair lol. My local repair shop was one of them.

Sorry that comment is hilarious.  Are you suggesting a repair shop, that makes money on repairs, BANNED a retail product because they made you too much business?

Also, let's not forget some facts:

Sony began hiding it's true PS3 sales numbers by combining PS2 numbers into the same report.  This started about halway through 2012 and continues even today.

Here's your proof: http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/financial/fr/12q3_sonypre.pdf

It seems that Sony is grasping at straws, desperately trying to gain some market share right before the next gen hits.  They are losing hundreds of millions of dollars each quarter with no sign of improvement.  So, they first tell everyone they won't make an announcement about next gen until after Microsoft, then turn around and do the exact opposite.  Meanwhile, they are hiding true sales figures for the PS3, but still reporting those inaccurate numbers to the news media (which further fuels the fanboy vs fanboy war with misinformation).

Now, I don't think the word 'dominate' really describes Microsoft's lead over Sony for the current gen, but it could easily be described as, "dominating expectations".

The Xbox 360 had a 300% growth rate over the previous gen xbox.  Yet, Sony could only muster up about 50% growth rate over the previous playstation.  Oh, and btw Microsoft is the only one currently making any money AND they are doing it with the Xbox Live Gold subscription that everyone seems to hate, yet still pays for.

I see big  changes coming to Sony and how they do business in the console industry for next gen.  They have to do something to stop the money spiraling down the drain and free online gaming with a cheaper console price isn't going to work for them, unless they need a reason to exit the game console business.

"Microsoft dominated this generation and the next one is theirs to lose."

By what metrics? North America only, and if you ignore Nintendo?

So, the Wii U is going to end up dominating?  The Wii U is Nintendo's entry into this generation's home console battle.

When I went to school 2 *3 = 6 < 7

Not to mention the 2 that were fixed within warranty.
So yes I have gone through 3, well the third one is still working

Like I said the next box could make my cup of tea in the morning and give me a blow job but I still would not purchase one

So.. you didn't actually go out and buy 2 new consoles? Then how would you count for 3 consoles? MS does not count replacement consoles as a sold console.

No I have had to buy 3 consoles and also had 2 repaired, no idea if the repaired ones were replacements or not. If they were that would be a total of 5. Who knows if they count replacements as shipped or not my guess would be yes.

Not going to argue anymore if you were an early adopter you would understand how M$ fucked us up the ass

I bought a launch console and I went into wal-mart when mine got RROD. The warranty of MS was so good they told me to go get a new one in store. I keeped my Hard drive. I'm thinking you don't even own a xbox or your really not smart about letting your xbox breath. I went through that one console. You must be putting yours in a inclosed place or in the oven. Their is no way you bought 2 more and repaired 2. Your full of it. You don't own a 360, you own a ps3

Xbox was released Nov 22nd 2005, M$ did not recognize the issue until July 5th 2007.

Letting your Xbox breath its not a bottle of wine for fucks sake, it's losers like you who let them get away with this, fucking lemming

They spent 1 billion dollars to fix. It's people like you that get banned and on top of that, nothing will impress you. you don't own a 360. You are flamming and acting as if you do. you are using it for a reason to talk down to people. GOOD JOB>

Reported.

If they count repaired consoles as shipped then software sales would show it. I guess that would mean PS3 gamers buy even less games that people usually joke about.

I said replaced not repaired, my guess is you were not an early adaptor and thus have nothing to say on the subject...

Who gives a **** if its replaced or repaired, that's the same thing. Why on Earth would they consider that another shipped console LOL.

Furthermore it is irrelevant to what I said. If there's truly this massive influx of shipped numbers because of RROD, software sales would show it. But they don't. So take that tin foil hat off, please.
