@SuperMarioWorld: In other words, he said Nintendo took the gentleman route and spare the competitors rear-cheeks...

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

"Where were the exclusive at launch? Last I can remember was N64 (Super Mario 64)."

Dismisses Wii Sports because it was bundled. Goes back to N64. Forgets about Smash Bros. Melee, Rogue Squadron 2, Luigi's Mansion, and Super Monkey Ball for the GameCube.

I didn't watch the video, but that sounds like a fanboy comment. It's so blatantly false that the video is probably filled with more nonsense and skewed worldviews.

There is quite a lot of opinionated nonsense throughout the video.

He is right. Nintendo had an opportunity and they didn`t cease it.
I always said that the one year headstart could do wonders to change people`s perception of the console. But somehow, after 3DS, Wii U failed the same way: no system seller at launch; no 1st party titles after launch to keep momentum.
How did they let this happen twice, i don`t understand.

I`m not saying all is lost, because for what it`s worth, if Nintendo, beginning March, can keep a steady flow of games coming and a Zelda - Mario Kart/Mario 3D combo for the holiday period, along with 3rd party support, the damage won`t be so big.
Most important is, that Nintendo keeps the games coming next year aswell, when shortages and lack of games will (most likely) hit PS4 and X720.

In terms of marketing and advertisments... start from scratch. The Wii videos (not the commercials) for Wii Sports, Metroid, Red Steel were way better and more engrossing.
Luigi`s Mansion 2 commercial was pretty good in showing your role on the game - more than Wii U`s commercials.

And Zelda TP on Wii ^^ but still, the main point he's making still stands

NintendoLand is decent launch title that shows what the gamepad is capable of.  ZombiU is a decent exclusive title also.  I agree with a little of what he is saying (perhaps they should have included at least 4 GB of ram).  They should of had a Wii Sports U and Wii Fit U at launch.  Mario Kart is dropping probably around holiday season this year so that should pick up sales around that time.  They dropped might have dropped the ball but they can still pick it up.  This guy really didn't really enlighten anything to me.  Sure Nintendo made some mistakes but they also have some time to fix their mistakes.  Frankly there are very few third party games that I give a shit about these days.  The GCN era was the last era that I really cared for 3rd party games.  Now, the only 3rd party games that interest me would probably be Monster Hunter and GTA (and my GTA interest is pretty much gone).  So I am not the typical video game consumer considering I have very little interest in almost any third party title.

Yeah, I actually think they had a decent launch; what they lacked was games to back the system up during the coming months. Had they had Mario Kart, or Zelda, or 3D Mario coming out in Febuary I think it would have sold a lot more! And considering the specs of PS4 they really should have had better specs...

YOU might not be interested in 3rd parties, but a lot of people still are! If Wii U don't get the next Mass Effect or Skyrim and only get gimped CoD's and Fifas/Maddens Wii U will end up dead last this gen...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

@DanneSandin: He bisacly said just about the same things I have on my mind about the industry as a whole, he actualy said upfront his thoughts would change due to how it's going... I may be a Nintendo fan, but atleast I'm open for other companies to succeed and I would stress out on the hogwash path that they would take, especially Nintendo...

I can put this Rich fellow with other level headed gamers out there that actually uses his brain instead bathmouthing outright, like ECCWii who now goes on by ActiveGamerLife, Shokio, Darkcloud1983, Tony Rende, DrTre and etc...

Yeah, I'm a Nintendo fan as well, but unlike some around here I can actually see when Nintendo is stumbling. Now, I'm not trash talking about anyone! I just don't understand how some people can be so confident that Nintendo will be alright when we know that PS4 and 720 will be quite the power leap above it, AND Wii U don't have the same drawing power as Wii had... This does not spell out a pretty picture.

I like Shokio as well! I'll be sure to try out the other ones as well!

Did everybody forget how the 3DS was doing only a few months after it came out? Yeah Post price cut and Nintendo drowning us in games, 3DS is the best system out there now. Wii U will be fine.

Atto Suggests...:

Game - Metro Last Light

I suggest you watch it, because with the exception that he doesn't know shit about when Nintendo consoles launched with a system seller it's a good watch with valid points. And he's no fan boy. He insisted for the longest of time that PS720 would only be a minor upgrade over the Wii U - and not leaving it in the dust as it seems likely right now.

He really did have high hopes for the Wii U. Maybe too high?

Lots of opinions and exaggerations thrown in, but I really think that Nintendo may have been overly optimistic with their launch titles and window.
If they are doing their job correctly, this could be a good thing and they could learn some better techniques for selling systems.
