Forums - Microsoft - Square's Ian Livingstone talks next-gen; hints at always-on, used game-blocking Xbox

Water marked to the console? Yikes. I mean, what if the console breaks?

A good way to push for digital sales... better allow 3TB hd's next gen lol

It's just that simple.

So all you guys that are "worried", if MS confirms this to be untrue in say, a month, is it still a problem?

Why would it be if it isn't true?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Exactly so people shouldn't make it one now until we know for sure.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Obviously the whole point of making this a discussion topic went over your head. If all you want to do is tell people to shut up, just don't come into the thread.

Well, this would be incredibly exciting to watch it if were actually true.

But given the amount of shit that was flung around about PS4, very little of which turned out to be true, I wouldn't believe this just yet.

Neither would bother me tbh. Never buy used (well I think I have twice in 20 years) and am always online anyway. Isn't everyone always online?

And neither would I, but unfourtunatly a lot of people will be bothered about it, Used game shops have such a massive market

Game
CEX
Cash gen

I "use to" buy used games all the time when I wasn't on a proper wage, I'm fortunate to have my job, But there are many people out there who havn't got a proper full time job or on flexi contracts with  zero hours, then there are people who genuinly can't get work and finally the lazy benifit scrounging scum who exaggerate" the no jobs to live a lazy paid for life, people will always wan't used games and this "weather it would bother you or I" is still a LARGE factor in how next gen would play

Ok, so what was the OP's point of making this thread? And if I wanted to tell people to shut up, I would but that's not I'm saying. Between me and the OP, you seem to be thinking for more than just yourself here.

TBH, I haven't bought a single used game this gen. If you cann't pay $60, wait for a price drop...it's that simple. Whats the difference between $55 and $60? Is that $5 that big of a deal especially when you're getting something untouched?

Oh well, people will cry then get the system anyway, if it has whatever game they like. M$ most important market by far is the U.S.. I don't know of anyone who can afford to play games on 360 right now who doesn't have an internet connection....no big deal!

The point of making this thread is because it is another mention from someone from the game industry about these rumors regarding always online and block used games. If you wanted to tell people to take it with a grain of salt or critic it for sounding like he was just quoting a rumor do so. Don't dance around it with statements like "So all you guys that are "worried", if MS confirms this to be untrue in say, a month, is it still a problem?".

Either of these would ensure I don't buy the next MS console.
