Forums - Microsoft - What will the XBOX "copy" from it's competition?

Copy isn't the best word but it works for the thread title. I mean which new features on the Wii U, PS4, or both, will also be on the next XBOX? Both Sony and Nintendo have speakers on their controllers for example. Do you think Microsoft will do the same? Or how about Sony getting rid of Start and Select? That's huge and hasn't been changed for 30 years! Do you think the XBOX will go the same route or will it keep Start and Back?

Note: Posts blaming one company for stealing ideas from another will not be tolerated. That's not the point of this thread.

The Live stream idea is clever for Xbox Live

Do you think they'll have a dedicated button for it or hidden within menus?

I bet it will run on electricity. Have an original idea please Microsoft.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

360 already runs on electricity. Your post is invalid (and lame).

OMG, info leak! :D

OT:

Quite sure there will several features that seem copied, streaming games is within their capability, streaming to your Widows 8 or Surface tablet also seem feasible for example. I'm pretty confident for no reason at all that Microsoft keeps the start/select buttons though, at least I hope so.

I don't know what XBL currently offers, but an integration of something similar to Miiverse could be an option. One of the only features of the WiiU which has really been praised so far.

xbox is in a position to wait. 360 is already using x86 cpu so 3rd parties are all over it. games sell well. they could see if ps4 flounders and release next year with a proper boost and a reasonable price. pimping the hype the whole way.

Playing a game while it's downloading. I hope Microsoft doesn't steal it.

Clip and screenshot sharing has been a regular feature on many 360 games, and also picked up by CoD. I can see this functionality becoming an integral console OS function a'la chatting. Video chat will also become an OS feature, on 360 it's implemented in-game. I doubt MS will have any cloud gaming service, but I do imagine that they'll provide a live-stream of gameplay function.

But one thing is for certain, MS has been the leader in system software features to date, I don't see that changing.
