I've been called gullible, sheepish, an idiot, among other things on this forum for thinking XBLG is worth a dime a day.

Those quotes from the OP don't really compare.

It's amazing isn't it. There are only two acceptable opinions on this forum. Sony is flawless and MS is the devil. Say anything in contrast to that and the defense force will assemble.

Yep. We agree. Enjoying what we want doesn't offend the other. This thread isn't about people like us. It's about people who are offended that others pay for something they claim not to want and feel the need to spit fire over it.

Google is so convenient for calling out bullshit.

kain_kusanagi (on 23 June 2010)

No thank you. I'm not going to pay to let Sony tell me what games I can have for "free".

kain_kusanagi (on 25 June 2010)

Hulu should be free. It's free on the internet. Why would I pay for TV when I already pay for TV? Playstation Plus is so stupid. If you're not paying for playing online then there is no reason to pay. I'm not going to give Sony money for the privilege of letting them hand pick games I can use while I subscribe but never own.

I honestly don't understand why so many Sony fans are so in love with PS +. You pay for Sony to pick games for you. What if you don't want those games? If you do you like the games you have to keep paying or you'll lose it. The sales are fine, but again you're paying Sony to choose what to discount for you. It's more like a rental system, but you only get to rent what Sony picks out from it's basket of stuff they that has already paid for itself or isn't selling.

best reply ever!

kain_kusanagi on 08/30/10 "They've added a lot of stuff like ESPN and such. Personally I'd like a subscription rate for people who play less than 5 hours a week. There could be a Platinum XBL at $59.99 for unlimited gameplay and services and a limited Gold XBL subscription for people like me who don't play that much but still want to play from time to time for say $19.99. Silver would still be free. The only paid service I use besides the occasional game of Halo Firefight with my brothers is Netflix and that could be like small additional fee for silver and gold users and standard with Platinum. MS would never do that, but that's what I'd like."

OH my goodness!!! I came back to this thread to see why it was suddently getting so many posts all of a sudden but this is hilarious. I find it ironic how the whole thread started off so hot because the OP called others out by labelling them as hypocrites in the title. And now this.

This is funny coming from you, from someone describes apple products "over-priced" in every possible chance ,looks down on those who buy Apple products and actually calls them Apple slaves!

How long have you been carrying that around. Yeah, Apple products are over-priced. I know because I've bought them. I don't consider myself a slave for buying them, just those who Apple has shackled in chains.

Thanks for the out of context comment though.

lol, I am not carrying it around, I saw the OP and remembered it. Some people see value in XBL and you are one of those people, good for you. Now try to understand why some believe that PSN+ and Apple products are worh their money.

EDIT: Forget about PSN+ , you clarified that above.

Funny thread.
But online console gaming should be free. Your Price for online is included when you buy the disk. It's rediculous

World of Warcraft used to come in a box. So did Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV will too. Why is it ok to charge for a high monthly premium for MMO's on PC, but it's an outrage to charge small fee for EVERYTHING on XBox Live?

It's not an outrage, you get what you pay for, right? However, I do think when your main competitor can bring their customers free online gameplay, even if it isn't as good as your own (which to be quite honest, that statement is very much up for debate) it makes you think a little. Basically, if Sony can do it, why not microsoft?  Obviously, they are a business, they are out to make money, blah blah blah, you catch my drift by now.

Sony is doing it, but can't continue to do it.  Did we forget that Sony is losing money like crazy while Microsoft is making money?

"Basically, if Sony can do it, why not Microsoft?"  Because Microsoft wants to make a profit and continue to be in business.  Sony does too, so we'll see a shift in the way Sony handles their console business very soon, and I've got a strong feeling it's going to be something similar to how Microsoft handles their console business.

There's a reason Sony is losing money, free online gaming, giving away free games, etc.  I'd like to see those of you who think Sony is doing well try to run their own business while losing hundreds of millions of dollars each quarter, and then tell me that they are the 'winning' business.

Actually if Sony gets many people to join PSN Plus it will be a very profitable venture. Patcher was talking about this on Gametrailers. He was alluding to them planting a seed and waiting for it to grow, which seems to be happening in spades.

Please, pray tell, explain how PS+ and XBLG are the same and an opinion of one invalidates an opinion of the other.

Since you like out of context quotes try these on for size:

kain_kusanagi on 12/05/12 "I don't want to divert this thread any more than it already has. My original point was that PS+ isn't as valuable to some as it is to others. I'm glad you like it. I'm not interested. I've stated why enough."

At the end of the day you can't play Halo 4 on PSN and paying for PS+ doesn't bring Halo 4 over either. That's the meat of this topic. People complain about XBLG and say PSN has everything that XBLG has. But if you want to play Halo 4 then you need XBLG. Apparently nobody is alowed to say this if they don't LOVE PS+ and do this

for the games Sony picks out for you.

If that's  how you see it here's a link to a shirt you might want to buy: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/eb9a/

PS+ =/= XBLG

Kain_kusanagi you should stop posting already. You are making yourself look bad. We are basically comparing at the moment PSN with Xbox live. Basically PSn does everything that Xbox live does and for free. PSN+ offers a lot more for a cheaper fee and it is optional. So at this point we should be focusing on PSN, Nintendo, Steam which provide a free service.

Why do you keep bringing Halo up? Doesn't make sense. The topic  here is " Is it worth to pay for something that you can get for free on any other platform" and you start talking about PS players can't get Halo. Another example how you lack arguments and just throwing random stuff here and there trying to justify this? I would respected you more, but with the Halo posts. No words.

You're conflating exclusive games with the services/functions LIVE, PSN, Steam, etc give.

People are saying that functions that you get for free on the PSN or Steam, should not be charged for by Microsoft.

If you buy, say, BF3 on the PS3 or PC, you can play online without paying anything on top of the price of the game. If you buy BF3 on the 360, you need to pay for LIVE to play it.

As I brought up earlier, Microsoft doesn't actually host the games or own the servers. So what justifies them to charge you the money? To me, it seems like they're really just taking hostage a basic and key function to extract more money, when they're not hosting the servers that the games are actually played on (ignoring P2P games like CoD).
