Look at the leaked PS4 specs...they were all corrct except that the ram doubled.

These leaked specs are pretty much fiinal. Any changes will be very minor. Being optmistic, Microsoft could increase the RAM amount, but that would be overkill. Bandwidth is the problem here, not quantity.

So in other words, the leak specs were great, except where they weren't, then they were off by a factor of two, right? Do you see how incredibly poor that statement is? If you take it as being accurate, then Microsoft has the advantage of knowing PS4 specs well ahead of time, and can adjust PR as to ensure that they prove they have the better console - after all, why panic when your opponent has already made their move?

 

It's too late to make any major changes to these consoles. What you see is what you're going to get. Microsft could increase their 8GB of RAM but it would be pointless since quantity isn't the problem here, its bandwidth.

...But somehow doubling the amount of ram was somehow viable for the PS4, but not changing the type of RAM for the next Xbox? Really?

I'm not an engineer, but that really doesn't make sense to me. Adding more room for memory requires a major design change. I don't see how that's any different than if Microsoft did the same thing.

The Xbox 720 is designed to get around the limimitatiosn of DDR3 RAM. They can't just change the type of RAM they're using lmfao. At least not witih major delays.
