The fact that gamers would concievable need three different controllers (Gamepad, pro, Wiimote/Nunchuk) for WiiU has always been a huge detriment to WiiU in my opinion. One (type of) controller should be all you need.

... Sony has three different controllers for their systems...

the move, DS4...what's the other one?

I think he's referring to Vita.  But I doubt Vita would ever be a requirement to play any PS4 game.

WiiU on the other hand, Gamepad absolutely needed, Wiimote - for games like Just Dance, NintendoLand and most multiplayer, Pro - For games designed for Gamepad but with multiplayer (which may not work well with Wiimote).

Regardless, sames hold true for PS4.

720 too, although for both 720/PS4 you can likely use the basic controller and (limited) Move/Kinect functionality too since the camera is always on you.

The only issue (and I think it's a big one personally) is that the number of wiiupads that can be used in a system is limited. Can you use two now? I know Ninty said last year they are working on making it possible but I haven't read much about it since

does it has games tho

It currently has more than the PS4 does.

It has more than the PS4 but the PS4 also isnt out yet. They also have another E3 to reveal more stuff. That doesnt bode well for the Wii U yet again. Couple that with Microsofts 720 launch and it seems worse, now doesnt it? Microsoft will show Black Tusks shooter for sure.

Because Nintendo wouldn't possibly bother to reveal any games at E3, or talk about any major releases then, would they?

Vita.

lol that's not a 'controller'. You can map it and use it as an option yes. But the one you are quoting is not using the 3ds too. iirc there will be 3ds and wiiu connectivity as well yes?

So far, there are no games where you use a 3DS to control Wii U games.  We have crossplay features where 3DS games can interact with Wii U games (monster hunter) but no actual interactivity.

well that's the case for vita too..outside of maybe 1-2 games I think. Haven't really given it a go myself. But yea it isn't exactly a controller for the system. Move and DS are controllers for the system for sure.

Nintendo needs to show more exclusives. Its senseless showing prettier versions of multiplats that only a few in that pool of buyers will actually purchase on their console. Also yes, now that the Wii U has been launched everyone will be focused on the PS4 and 720 details more so. They will statisfy the market Nintendo is finally reaching out to now. The specs hurt them enough.

The system is capable of supporting two (with a graphics hit) but as vertually no one will own two, very few games would support that and since very few games would support it, very few would consider dropping $100 for a second.  Currently no games support two gamepads. Not going to happen imo.

UMVC3 and LBP 2 actually use 3DS as a controller feature.  At any rate, not entirely sure why having more control options is a bad thing, but w/e.

There's something odd about that statement.
