Where you get the 77 million is for last quarter (Q3)... can be for middle February... and it's close to 77 million... not 77 million... maybe 76.5 million.

That was based off of a prediction from IDC, which said the 77M was for the end of 2012, not the interview with Tretton, which would be for mid-late Febuary. In other words, given he said almost 77M (which could very well mean 76.5M) and the fact that many believe the PS3 was at ~75M at the end of 2012, it is very posible that Sony has shipped 1.5M so far this quarter. For this quarter last year they shipped 1.9M. In fact, they have never shipped less than 1.6M for their fourth quarter, with the average being 1.97M. Personally, I don't think it is enough to put them over the 360, but they will most likely cut the gap down to 100K-300K. Which they will most likely pass in the following quarter.
Hahaha yeah, wow sure, Jack Tretton the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment has no idea how many PS3's have been sold and no company can possibly have it's own internal trackers that monitor what the competition sells *rollseyes*.
The lengths that some people try and go to on this forum to deny the inevitable/truth is quite hilarious and depressing all at the same time. So what's going to happen when the next quarterly numbers are announced and Microsoft barely manages to ship a million for the quarter and total xbox360 sales sit at roughly 77~ million..... does that mean Jack Tretton CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment only knows how many 360's have been sold but doesn't have a clue about PS3's?? haha

You are misquoting him. He did NOT say 'shipped' he said 'sold':

Clearly now you are going to say that he meant 'shipped' but that doesn't change the fact that in order to make a point you misquoted the OP. Perhaps he says 'he thinks' because he only knows the shipped numbers and he's estimating how many of those shipped numbers have sold?
Anyway, I thought it didn't matter anymore?
