Forums - Sony Discussion - Will the plagiarism ever stop?

So we all know that Sony's first Playstation controller was a complete derivation from the SNES controller, considering that the system was meant to begin as a CD addon for the SNES, but perhaps the copying goes a little further than people think...

Take for instance the button layout for the SNES. The action buttons were always referred to (as a whole) as ABXY, alphabetical order layout.

Now, Sony ditched the lettering and went shapes, but if you notice, the shapes all have to do with how many lines it takes to draw the shape. Circle is 1 line, Cross is 2 lines, Triangle is 3 lines and Square is 4 lines. Lined up in the same way as the SNES ABXY layout, we get 1234!

Plagiarism confirmed!

Sony and Nintendo were designing a console together, but it didn't work out.
