He was being facetious.

ha ha, thanks for asking the questions. It's hilarious watching these Sony fans try to justify an addition to the DualShock that is just as gimmicky and the SixAxis rip off. They would have done better to rearrange the analog sticks and move them in a more comfortable position. Instead they added a track pad that has almost no clear benefit to gaming. Moreover, they completely glossed over the trackpad's functionality during the press event. Clearly it's a gimmick if they have nothing to say about it. I can see all those 'hardcore' gamers buying the PS4 because it has a trackpad on the controller.

Nintendo Network ID: DaRevren

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

How do you roll your eyes more hostility

not much a gimmick but sure is an easy way to make vita games compatible with the ps4

I dont own a Vita but i know for a FACT the touch pad and touch screen was used more than once to play those so called hardcore games....Uncharted Golden Abyss is a good example.

sorry, I'm just not sure what your point is. No offense, I just literally don't know.

Is it that ps4 controller doesn't have a touchscreen, just a touchpad? Or are you countering what I said about "little use in core games"?

I made my point at the start of the thread. If you didnt understand why did you even bother typing a comment? Im stating that PS4 will have so called "gimmicks" obviously and they will surely put the use of them in the games. If not they would not bother packing in a motion sensor and track pad on every controller, it would be an optional add on. They even kept repeating the slogan "new ways to play".

*rolls eyes at more hostility*

I "understood" your OP, but didn't see how your reply to my post had anything to do with what I wrote. If anything, it's just repeating what the OP says, despite the fact that I agree with you (it will see very little use in core games), but will make much more sense in secondary features.

Your response was "Uncharted Vita used touchpad and touchscreen". What am I to make of a response like that when my post was about how the touchpad would likely be most used as a segway for mobile game control, and used very little in core gaming except how it is used with games on the Vita, ie; plotting a drive on hotshots golf, environment info in disgaea, etc.

You brought up the Vita and claimed i did not own one. I replied to that comment and made an example how those "gimmicks" are already used on those so called hard core games. You already admitted its a gimmick but now you are arguing how the gimmick is used. I dont care how the gimmick is used im just asking if some will quit playing video games now that gimmicks are introduced and its supposedly a "bad thing for gaming". Also im giving you permission to think im hostile in your mind, go ahead and pretend whatever you like to make yourself feel comfortable.

right, which is what I asked for clarity on since it doesn't actually respond to my post in any shape or form. I said it would be used little in core games, and you pointed out a little part where it is used. I know the vita games. They can function without the trackpad, and so it is used very little in those games. Meanwhile, a game like tearaway actually makes use of it.

That's why I asked for clarification because you were just agreeing with me in a condescending tone by saying Uncharted uses trackpad. Like, yeah, that's what I just said.

Lol. You're giving me "permission"? You are hostile. Ask anyone in this thread.

The point of this thread is that you've seen users call the wii controls a gimmick, and now that playstation has a 'different' feature of control, you want to point out how foolish everyone looks when they show themselves open hypocritical. That's hostility, but I don't have a problem responding in my own point of view, and I don't have a problem with the thread.

For example, when you decided to point out uncharted, you conveniently skipped over what I said about controls for mobile games, easy porting of vita games and mobile, and internet nav. You are just choosing to look at the negative. Whether you're doing it with a smile on your face or not, you're being antagonistic, imho.

EDIT: just noticed you're friends with galaki and spurge. Well, spurge friends everyone who joins... lemme guess you friended galaki right?

If thats hostility then youre hostile also for commenting in the thread and trying to attack me. I have no problem with anything you type about me. Youre not a part of my daily life and you already made your point by confirming its a gimmick. Move on...

But the touchpad is clickable.

Its either they are all gimmicks or none of them are. I dont understand why people try to pick and choose what they get to call "gimmicks". Its either everything for everyone or nothing for nobody.

Hypocrisy and double-standards.

Either that or just having simply no damn idea what a gimmick actually is.

This industry is full of people glorifying the company they love most and bashing the company they love least. That is the logic behind it, almost none of the times much more. If you're looking for logic, imho you're in the wrong place.

That's my discovery this far...
