Oh god, the copying debate all over again... Will this ever end?

PS3 has remote play with Vita, no game uses it.
PS3 has remote play with PSP and has had it since the PS3 launch (You can play Lair on your PSP if you wanted to).
Sony demoed off the PSP being used as a rear view mirror for Gran Turisimo HD at an E3 sometime.
PS3 has XMB remote play with both handheld devices.
PS2 has had the eyetoy since 2000, most games today on Kinect don't do too much more than what devs did back in 2000
PS2 had a "Wand" like technology back in 2002 when Dr. Marks was demoing new technology to be used with the eyetoy and have 3D tracking (He even demoed the Kinect prototype before MS bought it)
Nintendo had the Power Glove back in the early 90s (Or late 80s, too lazy to remember) which eventually would become the Wii-mote
Nintendo had asymmetrical gameplay with their GBA and GC (200x, can't remember the year).
Innovation not equal "invent". Invent means to create something that doesn't exist before. Innovate means taking an existing idea and improving upon it. Nintendo rarely "invents" they just take old ideas from the 80s, take technologies they've innovated from back then, and innovate them again for now. Sony takes current game ideas and innovates them. Both Nintendo and Sony both "copy" according to everyone. On another note, no one ever gave MS hell for "innovating" on the eyetoy, but everyone gave Sony hell for "innovating" the wii-mote (Move work was started on way before the PS3/Wii/360 came out so it was more of an asynchronous development).

What cameras? the Eyetoy is more then just a camera. You can control your game without a controller!!!!!! Nobody has ever done that before. |

No one gives a crap who had a camera first. What you do with it is what matters. And Sony clearly liked Microsofts Kinect software. |
I think they liked the sales boost during the holidays

Ok.
You only used your body motion to control the game with the EyeToy, that's why it's called motion control. Your reply is an EPIC fail!

I threw R.O.B. in there for shits and giggles but the other peripherals are motion based controls (except power pad but still got most people to run on it or slap it with their hands). The Activator probably would have worked right with some better tech put into it. Failing to give props to the failed Activator is a fail on your part.
Remote play didn't exist before Nintendo's gameboy connections.
Eyetoy was a single camera... not a 3D depth human reading understanding camera.
In both cases you are either entirely wrong or not realizing the major difference between the two technologies.
Its like saying no one invented the car because we had a horse and buggy.

That's kind of the whole point though. To compare the Kinect to the Eyetoy is the same as comparing the Eyetoy to the Game Boy Camera. I'm ecstatic for you that you were finally able to figure it out.

Maybe he gets paid by word? His Gears of War 3 Metacritic user review was well over 30 words and of course a 0 score. |
I get paid as much as you for writing that nonsense.
