Forums - Sony - A lot of ignorance today (Remote play and Eyetoy never existed)

I might have picked it up wrong from the presentation but I thought the dual camera sensor bar thing that the control pad would go with was more of six-axis wii-mote type thing for tracking the light on the controller rather than a kinect thing that aim to get rid of the controller? I never even associated it with kinect at all, other than the fact they both have two cameras.

lol @ comparing Kinect to Eyetoy.

Nintendo already had Game Boy Camera, I guess Sony and MS both copied them.

Kinect and The Eyetoy are the same! The Gameboy camera only took pictures.

didnt nintendo have interactivity with gc and gba?

Can you play games or browse the XMB using the GBA?

you could play coop on wind waker with the gba. Other gc games had some interesting uses as well

xmb didnt exist back then so why are you even mentioning it? Nor is it groundbreaking in any way

the fact of the matter is, the principle idea originated from nintendo

Bet with ninjablade:

Ninjablade wins if the next 5 multiplat on the wii u are inferior to the 360 version.

I win if one of the 5 mulitplats are on par or superior on the Wii U.

It had 3 interfaces: Shoot (take pics), View (view pics) and play ( play minigames).

And apparently there was going to be a successor for GBA called Game Eye but it was never released.

And there was no need to make a thread for this. You could have expressed it in the other thread.

That was one of the most useless features I ever invested in.

Uncertain about why this required a thread, because it's pointless squibbling on either side.

Who cares about who created it first, anyway? I'd say that the Move is clearly modelled on the WiiMote, that Kinect-looking thing they showed is modelled after Kinect etc. Doesn't mean that one company didn't make it first or what have you, but one company clearly refined it to the point where it was obvious what the other design teams from the other companies drew inspiration from, regardless of who "made it first".

But still, does it really matter?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

"Sony" & "Innovation" do not belong in the same sentence when it comes to their gaming efforts.

Everything had already been in done in some way, shape, form or concept long before Ken Kuturagi screwed Nintendo over.

And i'm not talking about been able to play movies on a console either, thats hardly gaming related is it.

Reminds me of this gamespot thread......... where the best thing sony fans could come up with that is actually legit is that sony started the rythim genre with parappa the rapper (thanks for nothing sony) http://uk.gamespot.com/forums/topic/25800454/can-someone-tell-me-what-innovation-did-sony-bring-to-the-gaming-market?page=0

The Wii U gamepad is modelled after PSVita/PS3 remote play.

Announced first and came out first!

Which is arguably modelled afteer the GBA/GC as well. But again, that's pretty irrelevant because they're two completely different beasts.
