Forums - Sony - A lot of ignorance today (Remote play and Eyetoy never existed)

Nintendo was the first in gaming therefore it is logical that they invented the most things, but in fact most "inventions" weren't invented by sony, nintendo or ms but simply stolen from other non gaming technologies.

What i'm really bored with are all these nintendo fans claiming that nintendo has invented almost everything.thats bullcrap. If nintendo would release a console with a wheel they would claim that nintendo has invented the wheel.(and to be hoenest:nintendo would be nothing without Miyamoto. It is not about invention of a company but about a great one man show of a genius

But the MS fanboys are worser and shouldnt complain about others stealing from them:MS history is from the beginning a stealing and buying of ideas-even the name xbox was bought just like kinect. From the beginning being "inspired" by apple, xerox, ibm until now.they cared shit about gaming for 25 years and suddenly discovered:We are the gamers best friend. Then they discovered casual gamers after they were discovered by nintendo and turned the ultimate core gaming machine into a casual multimedia thing(without changing the hardware but just changing the agenda).A zero innovation company running like the old bitch after any trend that was created and they have missed(gaming, tabletts, search engines, mobiles) trying to buy success they failed to create in a regular way(some billion for skype?no problem.we need a softwarecompany:how about rare.former top developer.now casual crap producer) and with one huge talent:destroying its competiton.

Direct X. MS

X box. MS.

Learn before you flamebait.

In 1998 four engineers from Microsoft's DirectX team, Kevin Bachus, Seamus Blackley, Ted Hase and DirectX team leader Otto Berkes, disassembled some Dell laptop computers to construct a prototype Microsoft Windows-based video game console. The team hoped to create a console to compete with the Sony's upcoming PlayStation 2, which was luring game developers away from the Windows platform. The team approached Ed Fries, the leader of Microsoft's game publishing business at the time, and pitched their "DirectX Box" console based on the DirectX graphics technology developed by Berkes' team. Fries decided to support the team's idea of creating a Windows DirectX based console.[6][7]

I have heard the future of PlayStation is the PlayStation Move. I believe that, and I love media molecule. Next generation will be all about Move, remember that!

I might also add that Kinect is more comparable to a speed camera than EyeToy.

If you are gonna start raging about people claiming companies copy ideas, then get your facts right. The first Console to portable connectivity was the Gamecube to the GBA. End of discussion.

One might want to heed their own words, if you aren't fussed about the 'overall quality' of the games, then the first 'portable with console connectivity' would be the Sega Dreamcast's VMU.

Actually looking at it from a technological standpoint, the VMU and the Sony pocketstation which released in the same year, were the first to allow minigames to be transfered from console to device, not only to be played while connected, but played while not connected, too.

I hope you realize that he's not complaing about MS and Nintendo copying as much as about the fact that the fanboys of those two are actually the ones ranting about Sony and accuse them "copying" It's good to understand that his position is "defensive" at least this time around. Me and you both know full well that Sony would have ended the same had they been the ones who brought Kinect by "adding depth" to Microsoft's EyeToy. I mean, come one, can we be honest for a sec? ..

And where'd you get the idea about Kinect2 doing 4K? I don't think it'll do over 1080p. 4K is kinda pointless until 2020.

I'm trying to be honest, but if the expectation is that Sony's effort be recognized, then why discard the GBA/GC cross-compatibility?

About 4K, it was a hypothetical Turkish had brought up to make a point, I was playing along.

In the end, I agree with you that fanboyism will twist any and every type of logic there is to be twisted. The reason is that fanboyism isn't based on logic, it's based on glorifying your plat of choice and downplaying the competition. That's why we get all these inconsistencies. After 5 days on ban I had some time to think.

So Nintendo copied Sony copying Nintendo.

Mind-blown.

Sony revolutionised it and paved the way for Nintendo. hehe

I don't know if you're serious or not, but you should now that the WiiU gamepad took a few years of planning and designing and wasn't thrown together after Sony showed the PSVita/PS3 remoteplay.

The same can be said about Move...

Well, the guy who made the wii remote approached sony first, but they said no, so my guess is that the move was something that at least was not supposed to be realized if the wii didn't do well.

OMFG really?

today http://kotaku.com/5986072/sony-and-nintendo-best-friends-forever

Made that crap and people still think Sony copied the Move controller after the WiiMote..lol

check this out:

this guy claimed this:

"They didn't invent a method for their motion control. They copied a method that had been created before them. That's not inventive or innovative. Sony didn't imitate Nintendo with the Wiimote they imitated the guy who made it."

My response:

the guy who made it was employed @ Sony!!!! this was Sony R&D LABS, HE HAS MULTIPLE Patents on the control scheme for pete's sake!

you know who else was at that 2000 siggraph event? Nintendo!

http://www.siggraph.org/s2000/conference/career/companies.html

Now your just pulling out crap out of your @ss, how do i know?

Well its very freaking simple. DR. marks in 2000 showed off the working Move concept with a working prototype software with a wand control scheme a wand with a multi- colored ball @ this is one freaking full year before gyration pitched the idea to Nintendo in 2001!

http://www.siggraph.org/s2000/online/emerging/

see for your self 3rd down picture on the left!

Medieval Chamber
Richard Marks

here is the freaking PDF:

http://lukasz.dk/mirror/research-scea/research/pdfs/SIGGRAPHetech2000.pdf

that is one full frwaking year before Nintendo got their pitch, hmm did they get the idea from Sony? Nope, Nintendo never does that! LOL

oh' what's that a wand with a big colored ball with motion control gaming from a freaking PS2 prototype! ONE FULL YEAR BEFORE NINTENDO EVEN GOT THE PITCH FROM http://www.gyration.com/

so by that you heard it here first folk's Nintendo also invented Time Travel and DR. who is ripping off from Nintendo now also/ LMAO

Move cost more for the components, just like Kinect the cost vs' what the components were for the WiiMote was just too d@mn expensive for mass market price, hell even Nintendo had to wait for WiiMotion+

Both Microsoft and Sony had to wait, Nintendo did not because the cost's were far cheaper for their motion technology!

If it is your going to become worse then Turkish. Please god dont give us another lesser turkish...

What did Turkish do? I've been hearing a lot of negative things about him.

Did every Ps3 game work with remote play?  how was the lag on them games??, what about games that need a 2nd analog stick or the L+R2 buttons?? what about the L+R3 buttons??.

You really don't know anything about the PSvita. You can use the back touch-pad or the Touch-Screen to use those buttons.

Move was clearly very influenced by Wiimote's success and design.

and the WiiMote was clearly very influenced by the concept by the Team and Dr, Richard Marks over @ Sony and of course Gyration Inc. who pitched the idea to Nintendo in 2001, while in a year before DR. Marks @ siggraph 2000 showed off the Emerging trend in motion control concept's working on PS2 hardware prototype!

So like i stated its not as clear cut as many seem to think.

Again:

DR. marks in 2000 showed off the working Move concept with a working prototype software with a wand control scheme a wand with a multi- colored ball @ this is

I think many are confused about innovation and invention:

Nintendo create the WiiMote? no

they licenced it, unlike Nintendo Sony really did invent a method for their Motion control, So if Nintendo Licenced the technology they did not invent it in the first place, so how is it that Sony is going to " imitate"

something they invented?

"Innovation differs from invention in that innovation refers to the use of a better and, as a result, novel idea or method, whereas invention refers more directly to the creation of the idea or method itself."
