Why are downloadable game sizes different between 360 and PS3?

Something I just found out now.

I downloaded the demo for Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 on the 360 yesterday which was 2.03GB in size. I decided I wanted to check out how the game played on the PS3 for comparison and started downloading the demo on my PS3. Here the size of the download is 1.34GB.

What gives? Why are these games so different in size?

All files on Xbox Live have additional code that checks to see if you are a Gold subscriber and if you are not it gives you AIDS.

The PS3 version is compressed and needs to be installed after downloading. That's why it requires more than double the download size when you download it. After installed, they should be close to the same size.

The xbox versions are not compressed? I heard the xbox just masks the download and install in one.

Microsoft's girthy consoles require it. It's American. Judging by Sony's annals of systems within a generation, they get slimmer. They're Asians.
