How do you know how many people talk about something on facebook? Is there a way to look it up?

Look at a groups page on facebook. It will show you the number of likes and the number of people talking about it right next to it.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

So basically this whole thread is screwed up because of the OP saying one thing but meaning another. We all agree the PS4 has less media attention than other systems if we include pre-launch (since it hasn't even been announced yet), and we all agree the PS4 has more media attention if we only include pre-announcement.
