FF Versus XIII and The Last Guardian are infamous as 2 of the most desired games yet to release for Playstation. They have turned into an ongoing joke amongst gamers as the ultimate troll bate/vaperware games ever to exist. Yet this does not change the fact that we all would like to see these games finally be released.

There is reasonable enough evidence to believe both of these games will finally be talked about again on 2/20.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII

The game was originally unveiled in 2006 alongside FFXIII. It was an unspoken truth that Versus was the more desired of the two entries, as they are designed to be parallel interpretations to what direction the FF series should take. Both games would drop off the face of the earth for several years, not resurfacing till that famous E3 where SE announced FFXIII would go Multiplatform.

In 2011 Square finally threw us a bone, and gave us a great trailer with actual gameplay.'

The game was revealed to be using the evolved version of Crystal Engine(the engine used for FFXIII) which allowed them to also use elements of their "Next Gen" Engine known as Luminous Engine.

Nomura has given several blurbs of info since then, constantly exclaiming he would like to give a huge reveal for the game but somekind of outside force kept him from doing so.

Earlier this spring, Nomura seemed ready to talk Versus and give new info about the game, but suddenly said, "Because of a totally unrelated reason, there are circumstances in which that info cannot be released."

He stated that early 2012 he wanted to do this reveal.....no show. Then stated for holiday 2012 time.....nothing still. There were rumours of Versus's cancelation which were then followed by...

According to Wada's tweet, "There's someone making a false rumor that Versus was cancelled. Haha...Just a minute ago, the regular Versus meeting ended. If you saw the presentation of the city, it'd knock you off your feet~lol"

Then there was a notice put out by SE that they might hold a conference of sorts sometime early 2013.

We do not have any word of any such conference from SE themselves.....but Sony has their big show planned in just a few days.

Nomura just tweeted about a "Noctis" fragrance line....just days before the big meeting where the PS successor is expected to be announced. Many developers have been hinting about their future projects, borrowing some of the PS Meeting's hype in a similar fashion. Bungie/Activision chose to do the same with their Destiny Reveal. This makes me thing we will finally get what we have been waiting for with FF Versus XIII getting a huge blowout there, and possible platform change.

We know Sony SM Studios has been assisiting with the completion of TLG. The issue that delayed its release (Which was originally scheduled for Mid 2011) was that the PS3 was finding it especially taxing to pull of some of the indepth animations. In particular, the Creature's feathers which were individually animated. Sony has stated that this game is still in development and that info would come in due time. They have been pretty tight lipped about it's progress so far. Yet this incoming conference is planned to be a game changer for Sony. All eyes are on them and they will want to capitalize on this opportunity. A few industry insiders bring validation to the rumour that TLG is now a PS4 launch title.

With both of these hotly anticipated titles due to be revealed at PS Meeting, excitement levels are through the roof. Many are warning others to temper their expectations, and they wouldn't be faulted for saying so. Still, if these rumors are revealed to be true, Next gen PS has already won over a sizable audience.

Versus XIII as a near launch title for PS4 would be a massive system seller among RPG fans. I know I wouldn't hesitate buying the machine for it. Going to go with Keep Dreaming though.

I told myself that I would skip out on being an early adopter this time around, as I usually buy consoles when they release. I figured I have done my part on being the life blood of consoles plenty of times and this time I would just wait for the more juicy bundles that come shortly there after. Yet, if these games actually are year one for PS4/Orbis.....I will once again be buying a system at launch without fail. 

I have been quite pleased with Vita's first year of releases. If Orbis can be comparable, then I am totally in.

With all the good news about Orbis specs, launch window games, and Pricing, and new marketing initiative.....Orbis would have to be winning straight out the gate.

The anticipation is killing me. Sucks because I have to work Wed :P. I am actually hoping much of it gets leaked the day before like every one of Sony's E3 shows lol.

It would be nice, but there really aren't many actual signs that either will be revealed on 2/20 rather than somewhere else at another time. The perfume thing isn't good enough for me to get my hopes up, and The Last Guardian ... I'm just not going to set myself up for disappointment.

Versus would make me buy a PS4 day one and I never bought a system day one. Just saying Sony.
