Forums - Gaming - Is Sony back on the right track?

It's been almost 7 years since Sony dominated the console scene well video game scene as a whole, but anyways is Sony back on track?

Look at their EXCELLENT marketing with evolution of PlayStation which is bringing nostalgia and faith back into these long time Gamers/PlayStation gamers.

Now they are announcing a Vita Direct today to help the Vita out. It needs a price drop quick and some amazing killer software titles.

So is Sony back on the right track or are they headed for eterenal doom?

Oh and I cannot forget about their excellent bait they used into tricking Microsoft that they were going to announce first.

Its the Most action I have seen from Sony in a long time, we will see with the PS4

Check out my Youtube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePSXcollector

Based on rumors (lol) it would seem so

The PS3 suffered from a few things imo. 1) The launch price. Not to say that it should have been lower because even at the launch price, Sony was losing money. Some say $200 on up to $330 at launch. 2) The PS3 was hard to develop games for and required more time for Developers. Many 3rd Party titles for years didn't perform on par compared to the 360. 3) 1st Party launch titles weren't that great. Drakes Fortune is a good game. But wasn't the game Sony needed it to be. They needed UC2 lol.

Again based on rumors, Sony seems to have corrected those PS3 issues with the PS4. If rumors become truth that is

We're still unsure. We'll see in the next 2 years.

Yay!!!

Tagged. I'll come back with an answer in 2015.

I think it's definitely too quick to say Sony is in shape to dominate like the last two gens. I don't even know if that's possible anymore, but I feel they are in a good spot right now. They have a healthy collection of great developers and they know from (painful) experience what NOT to do. I don't see them making the same mistake this time around as they did with the PS3. They also build a really amazing service in PS+ that has been getting praise from a lot of people, most of all the fans. The PS3 got off to a bad start but Sony has done some wonderful things and turned it around, they still have that momentum going for em and I at least don't see them doing any worse than this gen.

It sounds more like they are in panic mode because they need to do something for the Vita. The latest sales in Japan/NPD showed that consumers don't want it.
