Forums - Gaming - SEGA got royally screwed: Gearbox used money for Aliens:CM to fund Borderlands franchise. Updated with full questionaire. Talks about PS4 and New Aliens by Total War guys

Around the Network

I think this is hard to believe that Gearbox would be that stupid. They surely knew that this could'nt be done legally and moraly, they can't be that stupid to do this and not expect bad rep and a lawsuit so I think this is to far fetched to be true.

If true tho, we will hear about lawsuits, the presence or lack of lawsuits will be what confirms if it's true or not. And if it is true, I can't imagine anyone putting faith into that studios ever again except for Take Two who may want to continue to profit on the Borderlands franchise.

Suddenly I don't feel like supporting these guys anymore. After I finish Boarderlands (which I got for free on PS+) I'm done with them. I was really looking forwards to that Aliens game.

The sad thing is, not buying the game hurts SEGA, not Gearbox.  Gearbox already got paid to make the game (or in their case, not make the game)

SEGA is now the people who will get hurt or succeed financially based on sales.

I say everyone instead boycot Brothers in Arms Furious 4.  That's a game made by Gearbox and published by Ubisoft.  Both those companies need  swift kick in the ass right now.

Oh I meant boycott them in the general sense. I'm done with Gearbox, period. After I beat Boarderlands from PS+ that's it. I'll support Sega some other way, possibily by picking up Vanquish and Bayonetta after I make a few purchases next month (I already planned to ge them anyway).

If it is one thing I have learned is that consumers have a lot of power in numbers. DmC is the most recent example of this notion. Hopefully, people apply the same concept with Gearbox and their future endeavors. What they did is wholly unacceptable and they won't get my money.

As for Ubisoft .... lol I'm not a Wii U owner yet so it doesn't sting me, but I understand (assuming that is what you were alluding to).

I wasn't going to be getting the Rayman game anyway, but what Ubisoft did is a dick move and stupid move regardless.

Companies should be punished for treating its consumers bad regardless of whether you like the console or not, or were going to buy that game or not.  I had no plans to buy Rayman or this Aliens game, but in both instances Ubisoft and Gearbox are now on my bad side.
