They are a software company, they are miles and bounds ahead the other Console Corporations, Sony and Nintendo better thing another ways of getting gamers because Online-Wise its a lock for Microsoft.

While I know it isn't a surprise for me to consider PS4, but really how "different/better" are these online services going to be. Well, except for Ouya, I highly doubt they will have a well developed online platform or at least the games to use it. As for Xbox and PS4, their online services now how reached parity for a while. Some may disagree but plenty will try to use non online service related functions to back it up, like cross game chat et cetera. But really, the difference boils down to publisher bandwidth cost or some crap, and really it is a difference between weather publishers pay it or the consumer does. Bothers me why some think the consumer should. I guess some might argue matchmaking, but I'm not sure that's actually related to a paid service or not. Also, plenty of people prefer server lists of matchmaking. It's all semantics.

The only thing Psn does better than Live is if you pay for Plus, it gives you a much better value than Live Gold, no doubt.

But the service stills lag way behind Xbox in feautures...

Pain in the ass to acess Friend list, Send messages, see trophies takes time to load, the service is slow and the Dashboard is ugly.

Live dash is well organized, its beautiful, easy to see friends, send messages, Party chat. Anyone can jump and know how to work with it.

I dont see Sony doing anything much better next gen, they are all about hardware, they are pretty weak sw wise, not Nintendo-like but weak.

I think Sony will have the better service next gen. Not only are they both pretty much on par in terms of performance, but Sony will have get a few features next gen that they didn't have last gen (like cross game chat), all for free. Then you have PS+, which gives you a great value for your money, with the instant game collection, but it is completely optional. I suspect Sony is going to push the fact they have free online more next gen.

I wonder how will PSN+ work on the PS4. Giving away PS4 games for free right off the bat doesn't seem like a good idea. Seeing as how the developement costs will be higher, and they need to encourage new buyers to buy software and all that jazz.

I would guess that for the first few months they will be giving away PSN games and PS3 games, still.  Which makes me think they have to come up with some form of BC, since some people who don't have a PS3 will buy the PS4.  Then agan, they may not worry about that and just try to reel them in with the other features of PS+.

1) Hit the Ps Button on PS Controller, Go Right, there is your friends list... not sure how much easier that could be

2) Follow steps from #1, hit X Button on friend you want to send message to... again very simple

3) Trophies having to load does suck

4) Dashboard is ugly is opinion. I like it.
