Are you waiting for a Wii U price cut

Yes, counting down the mi... 54 24.32%

No, I'm waiting for the games 67 30.18%

Wii U won't have a price... 35 15.77%

Not interested in the system 66 29.73%

They are already losing money on each WiiU sold with it's current price. So I don't think they could afford a price cut even if they wanted to.

But I would'nt mind a ambassador program for WiiU if that should happen.

The wii U had a strong launch this christmas despite what many have suggested, Selling more then double what  the ps3/360 sold in the same period. But since the end of the holiday season, the system has seen terrible sales in line with the troubled PSVita and in some cases is being outsold by the Vita (europe). Unlike sony, nintendo is in the position introduce a price cut to the Wii U and has added pressure as the arrival of competing next gen systems are soon the arrival and are grabbing all the headlines. Following Nintendo's dramatic and almost unnecessary price slash on the 3DS in 2011, we can only assume they will do this to the wii u. With no strong software expected to change it fortunes until fall (unless wii fit U surprises us) then a price cut is almost a given.

Would it be silly to pick up a Wii U now? I was considering it but looking at evidence it seems in the next few months we'll see the inevitable. Anyone else want to pick up he system but afraid of missing out on the potential for a $199/$249 deal. Or maybe you think nintendo will just ride it out the price and wait to see how Mario Kart and Wind Waker HD change its sales this fall?

1. Nintendo is in no position to price cut on the Wii U this year, at least not without taking serious financial losses.

2. 3DS price cut wasn't unnecessary, it was essential. In fact, looking at how its selling now in the US and EU markets, it probably needs another one this year.

If Nintendo have any sense they'll drop the price in November in an attempt to scupper the launches of the PS4 and 720. The Wii U should be profitable by then so they should be able to cut the price and continue to make a small loss on each console sold.

I will buy Wii U when it reaches $150-200. That means I won't be buying it anytime soon, but I can't say that's bothering me. At least by then I'll have a few good games to play, as I already have more Mario games than I can play anyway.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I'm waiting for a price drop, more games and other reason I can't discuss here.

I don't think it'll need a price cut any time soon, depending on the price of the PS4/Nextbox of course. If Sony launches the PS4 at $450, which quite some rumors seem to suggest, and MS not below this price the WiiU will be fine. If Sony launches the PS4 at $400 Nintendo should slash the price of the WiiU by $50.

Wii - $250 at launch

Ps3 - $600 at launch.

Wii - 99million total

Ps3 - 74million total and gaining.

Wii U is not nearly in the same position as Wii was. It still needs a price drop even if Ps4 comes out at $600 again

Games please. 2D Mario, while fun, is not a system seller to me. I need to be wow'd before I'm gonna purchase new hardware.

me for one. i'm a cheap bastard.

Maybe people would like to buy Wii Us if their was something to play on it, other than a Mario game that some people can't even tell the differences from previous NSMB games. We need Zelda, 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Metroid and Super Smash Bros.

Wii U's will start selling once SSB comes out. That's one of the only Nintendo games that core gamers think is worthy of buying a console for. Mario Kart will gasp casuals from the previous Wii in. Get some shooters, online features on par with 360 and PS3
