They'd better not doing it. Anything that carries Sony brand on these days is instantly hated by everyone.

I still don't believe it will be tied to backwards compatibility. Seems like a lot of work for less profits. I think it will just be a straight-up streaming service.

This will be tough for sony, if they do. First of all, Gaikai delivered a technique for x86 and not cell so development cost goes into there. To deliver a good gaming experience Sony has to deliver high-performance-servers all over the world, connected to very high-speed networks before even one customer pays 1 cent. And they don't know if there are enough customers to accept this solution as most probably many ppl will complain about the service as it is crucial how they are connected to the internet which Sony can't influence but the customers will still blame them.
To me it is too risky, too early and could end up bad for Sony.

Your more than likely right but who knows maybe this could take off for Sony and put their name in a good spotlight.. They may not have pioneered it but streaming full games is mostly unknown and theres always the possiblity this could become the next 'in' thing.
does anyone think Sony may push to take Netflix on and stream movies?

Well they already distribute movies for people to download so I don't see how a streaming deal could be much different

Oh I see, i did not know that unless you are talking about the playstation 3.. Instantly streaming movies to tablets, pc's and internet capable TV's could maybe be a profitable venture for them though

yeah I meant PS3. I would guess they introduce their service on PS4 as part of Plus or something to spearhead, but also open it up to other devices in the near future or at the same time. It would add another incentive to plus and undercut Netflix to get itself off the ground.
