Forums - Nintendo - Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D heading to 3DS soon!

I also think that E3 has the potential of damadging this game, if other plattformers will be announced. I see DK to be overshadowed by AC and M&L and in time will be overshadowed by other evergreen titles, like NSMB2, SM3DL and other titles that has yet to be announced.

Going with a re-make wasn't such a good idea, I agree.

Have you guys actually watched the 3D Trailer on the eShop? The game looks really really good in 3D. I also think 2D platformers are a good fit for the 3DS and I haven't played the Wii version so I will definitely get this.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I fail to see how this is a bad idea. DKCR is certainly one great Wii game that can thrive on the 3DS.

It also implies three things:
1) That Retro has a small B-team that can work on smaller projects and support other Nintendo developers.
2) That the main team is hard at work on a new game. Presumably a big Wii U release.
3) We can probably expect more from the Donkey Kong Country franchise in the future.

im actually excited, I HATED the motion controls for the Wii version, killed it for me. Might check this out

The thing I absolutely hated about this game on the Wii was the abysmal design choice of having to shake the remote to activate the roll move. If that is replaced by a simple button press in this version, it would certainly be a marked improvement for me.

I still really wish it was an entirely new game, though.
